Well my girlfriend and her family went to Universal Orlando this week and they said the ride is still there but is not on the park maps anymore, so they are sure that it is closing (if we didn't know this already). This is very saddening to me to see such a classic ride on it's way out, and probably before I get there in May.

it was supposed to close many months ago actually. its future is up in the air. universal never made official plans for it, but word had gotten out that they were going to convert it to a simpsons attraction and word has it that nancy cartwright, voice of bart, is holding out for a lot more money than universal might be willing to spend.

I thought the idea of the ride was cool, but my neck always hurt after I came off it! It was really uncomfortable:(

Back to the Future was a lot of fun when I rode it.

The first few times were really cool. Several years ago.

But it is a simulated car crash/bump, that unfortunately feels like a simulated car crash. :|

A few of those 'bumps', the vehicle does (visually the car crashes into something,) .. are pretty brutal for a family attraction.

It's a fairly fun ride once a visit to USH, but not a ride that makes you feel like any re-rides the same day, IMO.

I look forward to Springfield.
Hopefully the new ride will be less smashing and a lot more funny. :~D

A friend of mine was one of the designers of the ride, and I remember always laughing at [with] him when we were waiting in the queue and he was in one of the 'ads' on the monitors. He also had an 'office door' in the queue. Sad to see his little piece of a legacy go. I used to program kids video games (in another life) and I remember when I first found one of my titles in the bargain bin at the compter store. Sad, sad day.

False alarm I guess (even though we know it will be gone).....the ride is still on the park maps....don't know how my girlfriend overlooked it...it's clear as day....

I can't believe they're going to close this. I am only familiar with the one in CA, but I think it comes closest to a Disney experience. The theming is first rate, from the waiting areas to the preboarding rooms. The technology took Star Tours' and went a step further with a giant 3D (yes?) screen and stimulators that are on arms. Just like we would all like to see a new movie for Star Tours it would be nice if they could update BTTF.

So the BTTF is Orlando is no more.. what about Hollywood?? I enjoy that ride, the BTTF trilogy is my favorite set of movies.. I'll be sad to see it go.
I hadn't been for a few years until last summer, and was surprised ET was gone, and Mummy toook its place! Though I did enjoy Mummy... I missed ET saying my name..
