Hello All,

My wife and I headed down to the California Science Center yesterday. We wanted to see the Star Wars exhibit (Where Science Meets Imagination). We had to wait in line a bit but we got to finally see the exhibit. The exhibit exists of many models and costumes from the Star Wars Movies (mostly episodes 4-6). They have a couple of areas for hands on experiments (Floating Vehicles, Robots, Maglev Engineering Design Lab and Robot Engineering Design Lab). It was really crowded by 1 pm but we pushed our way through. I took lots of pictures for those who are interested.

Afterwards, we walked over to the Air and Space Museum. It was really small but I got a number of pictures inside.

A few highlights:

We're going to take our kids next month. One of their grandfather's projects is in the air & space museum and we've never taken them to see it before but at least two of them are old enough to appreciate it. Between the exhibit and grandpa's space craft, we're pretty excited!

My kids love the area where you launch airplanes of various shapes. They also like to try to fly the Wright simulator, but they always crash.

The exhibit has been on my list of places to go. Just not sure when we'll get a chance.

The exhibit is pretty cool. I thought it would have been a bit bigger. We missed only one part (Droids and Robots) but we can go back anytime between now and the end of April.

Just curious - what time did you get there (from the date you posted this, it looks like you went on a Saturday), and how long did you wait to get in? The website mentioned that there can be very long lines, so I'm curious to know from someone who actually went. Thanks.

We got there about 10:30 to 11:00 am. The lines didn't seem too long. We got in line for the Millenium Falcon thing and it took a good 20 minutes to wait. Then we got lunch and got back up stairs for the big exhibit about 12 noon. We waited for a good 45 minutes before going upstairs.

If you want to go you should go right at 10:00 am when they open and then head straight up to the top level. You can always come back for the Millenium Falcon thing later.

Is/has anyone gone to see the exhibit of Star Wars stuff at the Museum of Science? I was just curious on if it's worth the $$ and time. Thanks!

Do you mean the Star Wars exhibit at the California Science Center in Los Angeles? It's definitely worth the money, considering the exhibit is free. You'd just have to pay for parking, unless someone drops you off or you get there other than by driving your own car.

It's a terrific exhibit with a ton of models that I've not seen in the numerous other exhibits I've seen. This was my absolute favorite (http://www.colddeadfish.net/images/SWCSC/sw01.jpg), though the large scale (and tiny scale) Falcon were pretty incredible.

It's a very cool thing. I would go early, at opening, and head straight up to the Star Wars exhibit. It does not cost you to enter the museum (they do accept donations) and they try to get you to buy the IMax tickets to get priority into the exhibit but if you go at opening it shouldn't be necessary.
