As the tittle suggests I am debatting on goin into the Parks on Sunday April 22. We are flying in to Anaheime that day and arrive at our hotel around 11 or so. I figured that after unpacking and haveing some lunch we could have hit the park around 2, But then I found out about everything that is happening that day. I am now trying to decide with the weird hours of DL and CA, the fact that Fantasmic will be dark and that its the last weekend of the SC 2/1 passes is it worth it. I would love to go but don't want to waste 1 day out of my 5 in the park waiting in lines and crouds when I can use it another day and go shopping and relaxing that first day.

So the question is; Is it worth it to go on this day?? Am I missing anything that only happens on the weekends?? I just don't know what to do.

I think your best bet would be to wait. Relax, unpack, get settled in, and go to bed early! You'll all enjoy that first moment through the gate when you're not so tired and jet weary! Shop around DTD if you want, but take it easy, you have a week, don't rush it!

I would never be able to not go in if I arrived by 2 pm. You still have plenty of time to enjoy the parks. 1/2 day or not, it's never a wasted day at Disneyland! :)

Disneyland closes at 4 on April 22nd.

Two hours? Not worth it.

You should take the time to explore DTD and GCH. Save your park admission for a more full day.

I would have to agree to not go. If it were a regular day with regular hours, then I would say go for it, but since they are closing so early I wouldn't waste the ticket on just two hours.

Since it sounds like you're gonna be there at least 6 days, I agree with not going that first day. If I had my choice between a full day and a 2 hour day, it's a no-brainer!

But if that 2 hour day was the first of only 5 days, and I had a five-day ticket, yep I would still go.

Another suggestion: If you do decide to go that day, don't unpack till after 4, and just eat inside DL. That would be a good way to maximize your time. Hell I never unpack when I check-in to my room. I drop my bag on my bed and head straight to the Park.

That was my first thought, and then we could go see DCA but I am still worried about the fact it is the final weekend for the 2 for 1 pass and I have no idea what those kind of things would do for the park.

My other idea was to go to Knotts Berry farm that day instead. I just don't know. Does anyone know how crowded these 2 for 1 days get??

We had the same decision this past summer. We arrived in Anaheim around 2:30. The first thing we did was go to Downtown Disney and had a very late lunch at ESPN Zone. My family loves to eat here and play all the games. But I never want to tear myself away from the parks for a sit down dinner! After that, we wandered around DTD, built bears at BABW, and then went back to the hotel. DH and kids went swimming while I unpacked and organized the room. That night, we watched fireworks from the pool area and we were up bright and early the next morning. It was a little bit hard to NOT rush right to the parks, but we were all really glad we did it this way!

Have a great trip!

I would definitely not go to the parks that day. 2 hours is not worth it at all! Instead, wander DTD and the Promenande. I have always felt some magic just hanging out between the 2 parks entrances. Listening to the music, looking at the various bricks, etc. It will make going in the next morning that much more magical!
