Hi, wondering if anyone has done this on one of the cruises? We will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and have been considering it as our girls will be with us during this time. Although it is quite pricy in my opinion. But if it is worth it I'm not too worried about the price. And I thought it would make it special just to be close family. Thanks for any help in advance.

When my friends went two years ago they wanted to do this but couldn't -- the regulations are different West Coast vs. East Coast (unless they've changed something since then). You might be able to arrange something at one of the ports, though...

Just as an FYI, the issues surrounding vows are very different then vow renewals. In most circumstances, you can not take your vows at sea under the officiating of the Captain, the vows need to be taken on land (or in port) with a formal officiant. Vow renewals, however, are not restricted. You are not formally getting married and the procedure is ceremonial and does not carry the weight of law as a wedding does.
Most cruise lines offer vow renewal packages where the Captain will officiate and a photographer will be present and they will present you with a certificate.

I am still in the process of trying....and I do mean trying to look into this. I have yet to recieve anything from disney itself other then a message on my machine. And I have called and still get nothing but a machine for the person I'm supposed to be contacting. As for the Cpt being able to do that. I would absolutely love something that simple!!! But in disney style it does'nt seem to be a option. They want you to go extreme or nothing!! I am just looking for something for my husband, myself, and 3 daughters....pics....thats it! It just seems to be something they don't want to bother with if it's that simple. Kind of disappointing. We had the huge wedding 20 yrs ago....could it be that maybe we just want truely simple and intimate??? I'd love help if anyone knows who I could contact!! Thanks again!!

I have no problem assisting you with this. I would try contacting Guest Services for VIP Services. Usually the cruise line will want you to purchase a complete package, but there should be some very specific ones that do not cost as much as you think. One thing to be sure to mention is that you are looking for a "Renewal Vows" package and not a full wedding package. The cost is substantially different due to the licensing and officiant requirements for a full wedding. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you need any other help.

Finially recieved something back from them. The price actually was'nt too bad for what they were offering. Or at least I did'nt think it was. The major downfall to it though is that they only do it on the day your in port. And to me that is a huge reason why most go on a cruise to begin with. So we have decided against it on the cruise at least. Now are going to look at options that have while we're on the land portion. Maybe we can still come up with something nice. :)
