View Full Version : Castaway Club
Walt'sbirthdaygirl 01-14-2007, 08:05 AM I was wondering when do you get your membership number for Castaway Club? We took our first cruise last month and we are looking forward to booking another, especailly if the Magic comes to the West Coast.
I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone at DCL.
GusMan 01-14-2007, 02:12 PM We got our CC info about 6 weeks or so after our trip. It included a membership card and a cool CD with some MP3's of different music that kinda "brings you back" to when you were on the ship.
You dont need your CC info to book your next trip and you can add it in later, if I remember correctly. (I think Mrs. GusMan did it that way...) As far as I know, it does not give you anything along the lines of a discount.
Niwel 01-14-2007, 04:03 PM You are invited to a party onboard and there is usually a gift in the room, but like PP said... no discounts are offered for CC.
Walt'sbirthdaygirl 01-14-2007, 04:10 PM Do you get an opportunity for earlier booking for Palo?

You might, but I know you can book Palo on the web now, which saves a lot of hassle. :)

Yes, Castaway club members can book Palo and excursions 75 prior to sailing, while first timers can book 60 days out.
GusMan 01-15-2007, 05:47 AM For some of the items above, if you need your CC # chances are you can get that from guest services when you call to book. Not 100% sure on that, but an assumption/guess. I will yield to others who might know for sure... :)

We did the four day cruise in December. At 6am Pacific time, 60 days at, three of us logged on and tried to get ressies for the Palo brunch, no go, it had all ready been booked solid.

That's awful... was that because of the CCs?
Walt'sbirthdaygirl 01-16-2007, 08:33 AM Not entirely sure, but we I did call and the CM I spoke with originally told me the brunch was no longer offered, so I called later and spoke to a supervisor and was told it was booked prior to the first date the "general public" could book. We plan on doing the 7 day next time, so hopefully we can get in for either the brunch or tea.
They always hold some reservations back for people to book onboard. So, the day you board, try to get there early and head straight for WaveBands (to your right from the lobby). They always have some tables, but they can fill up quickly.
The problem with Brunch on the 4-night is that there is only one day it is offered, and with how small Palo is, they can only handle a small group.
