Weather.com is showing rain for next Thursday and Friday. It's a 10 day forecast but the chance of rain seems to be increasing each day I check. We will be going the 8th-12th and the 12th is the only night with the fireworks. Do they still go on if it is raining? We'll catch Fantasmic probably the Monday night. What rides or events are closed when it is raining?

Fireworks are hit or miss. It's usually more wind than rain, but then, I have never seen the fireworks in the rain.

The only rides that close in Disneyland are the Teacups and Alice in Wonderland. I think the Zypher in DCA closes as well, but I could be wrong.

Not much. I know Alice closes (because the outdoor part of the track gets too slippery for the cars to get traction).

Rain is fun. get a pancho and just think of the rain as "Crowd Deterrent"! :D

Rain at Disneyland is soo fun! don't worry about, there are really very few attractions that close. The Golden Zephyr in DCA will close, probably the Mad Tea Party, and Alice in Wonderland. Also fireworks might be cancelled. Otherwise, you can expect to enjoy the DLR just as you woul on any other day.

Tom Sawyer Island and the Big Thunder Ranch areas close due to mud, but the BTR was scheduled to be closed anyways (removal of the Holiday overlay).

Fantasmic! can be shut down if the stage and/or the Columbia is too slippery (workers safety).

The Parade can be cancelled, and replaced by a small Rainy Day Cavalcade (the parade floats aren't safe to run in the rain, due to tire/brake issues), the Cavalcade vehicles are the Main Street vehicles that have grooved tires and other safety requirements (also easier to steer).

As mentioned Alice is one of the first to close, followed by the Tea Cups.

The Mattterhorn will close in heavier rain, even if they don't close it, the rain trips some of the safety devices, which closes the ride anyways.

Autopia will close in HEAVY rain.

When we were there in Dec, I think Gadget's Go Coaster in Toontown closed when it was raining.

On one of my trips to WDW, I saw the MK fireworks during a thunderstorm. Spectacular.

Rainy days, at least if it's not particularly cold, are the ideal weather for riding Splash Mountain and Grizzly River: you're dressed perfectly for them. Just be sure you have a hood or a sou'wester, because an open umbrella on ANY ride, ESPECIALLY the two I mentioned, would be a serious safety hazard.

This might be a dumb question, but are umbrella's aloud in the park? I'm going tomorrow and it's too late tonight to find a pancho and i know I'll have to pay a fortune for one in the park.

Umbrellas are allowed. I bought a couple a few years back in a hard rainstorm, for less than $10 each. Seems like all of a sudden once the rain started, all the shops were selling them, along with the less expensive ponchos. The Disney umbrellas have far outlasted the rest of my collection of over-used Seattle bumbershoots. They're one of my favorite, and least-expensive souvenirs.

We have been there when it rained so much that even the Jungle Cruise was closed due to flooding. I believe that was in March of 02' or 03'.

Fireworks are cancelled for 'higher elevation' or something (which we get so bummed about!), so I'm guessing they probably close for rain all the time. Not really sure.
