ya know - this time last year I was thinking about the upcoming 1/2 marathon. i'd been training all year, and was about to embark on something i never thought I'd see myself doing.
I didn't have a "runners body" in Jan. of 2006 when I ran the 1/2 marathon. In fact, I didn't even run the whole thing, I ran, then I walked then I ran, then I walked....I ran the last 3/4 of a mile. I finished the 1/2, and didn't get swept. I swore I'd not ever do anything like that again. I haven't really worked out at all since then.

Guess what I'm getting myself after the holidays?!?!:p An eliptical, and a new MP3 player. And some new sneakers. I think I may attempt to do what I swore I would never do again....

And I'm gonna try to talk my husband into doing it as well:D

I still won't fit the typical runners mold...I'm short, tubby, and I hate running!!!! Damn if you haven't inspired me RunninDisney!

Good luck to you. I'm off to Dicks for sneakers;)

:D I recommmend going to a running store to get your shoes. I don't know where you live, but see if you have a Fleet Feet near by. I love that place. They'll put you in the right shoes. Remember, you can't buy your running shoes by color. (Sometimes the right shoes for you are U-G-L-Y)

I leave tomorrow morning! I just read UltraMM's running site and the half marathon report really helps me visualize the race. I am so excited I don't know if I will sleep at all between now and 3 a.m. Saturday. Good luck to all the runners and wheelchair athletes. See ya at the finish line (eventually!)
