Just booked our first Disney Cruise for June 16, 2007 - 11 nights in the Mediterranean. I am so excited!!! Is anybody else doing a Mediterranean cruise? The DCL website doesn't have a lot of information about activities on the longer cruises. Will they be different than the Caribbean cruises?
We were only able to get late dinner seating (early were booked). Has anybody done late seating with children? How do they handle it? My son will be almost 7.
How do you find out about excursions?

There are kids at late sitting, just tend to be less than at first.
They will likely put you in the kid-heavy rotation: Animator's Palatte, Parrot Cay and then Tritons/Lumieres.
Since the Med is all new ... expect them to test some activities not necessarily already on the ships ... but count on most of the activities being there. Also the weather might make some of the outdoor activities difficult. Expect to get the scoop on excusions no sooner than January... We're doing a Med cruise on another line and that's what we were told.
Sounds like a great time! :)

We're booked on the transatlantic repo next August. :) So, I can totally share your excitement!
As for late seating, we just got back from our honeymoon cruise, and there were a few kids during the late seating, but most of them seemed to handle it well. To tie us over until the late dinner, we would grab some light food at Pluto's or the new Goofy's Galley (formerly Scoops), the latter of which serves healthier fare - wraps, salads, fruits, and panini sandwiches. Those hit the spot nicely around 5pm, without spoiling dinner. :)

Thanks for the info about snacking beforehand. I'll definitely keep that in mind.

We are going on July 7th on an 11 day cruise. Our hotel is the Atenea Mar. 2 days before and 2 days after our cruise. Travelocity had a great deal on the hotel as it was only $140.00 plus tax per day & about $110.00 less than Disney had quoted. This is the same hotel that Disney will be using and they have arranged for transportation from hotel to the ship and back. It's right across from the beach and rated pretty well. Also, we'll be flying from Madrid to Barcelona using our airline mileage rewards but that only gets us into Madrid.
Does anyone know anything about Iberia Air, Spanair and Air Europa? There is a big price difference. We'll be using one of them for our trip from Madrid to Barcelona. Iberia is $406.00, Spanair is $212.00 and Air Europa is $91.00 and all these prices are round trip. So if anyone could help us with some info about any of these airlines and/or experiences with any of them, it would be greatly appreciated.
Everything is all set except for our air trip between Madrid to Barcelona. Can't wait to go as we'll be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary!
Aloha,
