Did anyone catch Conan O'brien on Friday? He sent Triumph the Insult Dog out to a Star Wars line-up, and oh man I almost died laughing. Robert Smigel (creator/pupetter/voice of Triumph, as well as SNL cartoonist), is a comedic genius. He was just hysterical, coming up with everything on his feet. The best was when a guy came up in full Vader garb. The line he came up with to insult that guy was SO funny, that Smigel actually started laughing before he could get the line out!

Oh MAN, I missed that! :(
I love Triumph (and potty jokes in general).

I don't suppose there's a kind soul out there who taped it and would make me a copy or let me borrow theirs? I would be happy to make it worth your while.

Okay, I missed it the first time, but someone sent me the link to a site where someone has a Windows Media file of it. Here's the link.

I loved that skit! Conan's fun to watch, anyway, but that was the best! I agree, the remark to Vader was the funniest.

I've generally found Conan himself to be very unfunny, but this segment was hilarious. I loved the "cameo" appearance by Spock at the very end. Take that Star Wars geeks!!! :p

Ok, who is more justified making a pseudo religion Star Wars Geeks or Star Trek Geeks? One is based on decades of shows and movies while another is based on 6 movies.:)

I'm sorry, no. The correct answer is "Who gives a (bleeeep)?"

Okay, I'm going to get slightly nerdy for a moment (as opposed to my oh-so-trendy state of replying to Disney message boards). Star Wars has more religious tones than Star Trek, which has more military and exploratory tones. So I would honestly have to say the six movies win out.
But this reminds of a skit on Mad TV, where Diane Sawyer or Barbara Walters interviewed George Lucas after Episode 1 (all impersonated, of course). George was flat broke and living in a tiny house in California he called "the ranch". He drove the journalist around the front yard, saying "I'd like to show you something." He'd drive five feet to a bush.
Anyway, he'd say (more or less):
"A lot of people think that Jedi is like a religion. So the question is asked, did I create a religion?"
Journalist: "Of course you didn't--"
George: "I wasn't finished. The answer is yes. So if I created a religion, the question asked is, does that make me a god?"
Journalist: "Well of course it doesn't--"
Goerge: "I wasn't finished. Again, the answer is yes."
It was funny.

Ok... moving on.:D
Of the two groups (SW and ST) is one classified as geek and the other as nerd or are they both on comon name (outside of loser:D)

FYI for fellow night owls out there, it looks like tonight's episode of Conan is going to be the rerun of the Triumph/Star Wars episode.

Assuming you saw the clip, do you remember the "Lord of the Rings nerd"? He was eating a Filet O' Fish and had amazing improv skills. Well kids, he has a Web site!
