View Full Version : DVC vs Timeshare if you don't want to go to Disney?

I like the DVC use of points and the flexibility it offers versus traditional Timeshares. However I have been to Disney many times and don't plan to go again until I have grandkids, which is probably not for many years. Don't get me wrong, I love Disney and everything is first class, but I am "Disneyed Out" for a while. I was thinking of a timeshare in Orlando since it will always be in high demand. However if I buy into DVC, I would primarily use the Concierge Collection and other non Disney locations for a few years. So the questions are:
Should I just go buy a Timeshare elsewhere if I don't want to go to Disney for 5 to 10 years?
If I do, how easy and flexible is it to use other venues like Europe, Hawaii, and the Caribbean?

Thanks
