That's not true. We were there on a Saturday a couple weeks ago, and the crowds weren't that bad. We went on a number of Fantasyland rides, with about a 20 minute wait average.

I'm with you on this also CS. I've been several times in the last 6 months, all on weekends, and it hasn't been bad at all. I'm comparing this to the last five years, with the exception of the months following the start of the 50th.

To follow DB's suggestion, go now. We go for 5-6 days every spring break and it's very busy but enjoyable.

This last Sunday, February 25th was EXTREMELY Busy, so much so, they had to open the Buzz Lightyear (Strawberry Field) around 3 PM. This lot is used for the Theme Parks only a few days a year.

Does anyone care to guess what the last week of April might be like??? We are going after spring break but will it still be crazy?? Last year we went the second week of March and it was beautifull and quiet and warm compared to Calgary right now. (Snow snow and more snow) Darkbeer your pics always make me wish my trip was sooner.

On Friday, March 9 the parks open at 9 & 10, so I'm guessing they won't be THAT crowded, not that I ever mind waiting in lines.

My hope is that Darkbeer is becoming the Warren Buffet/Allen (SP?) Greenspan of Disneyland crowds,
and that many people will stay away on the 9th based on his dire predictions.

Braving it with you, we will be there the 10 and 11th. Big Basketball tourney at the convention center and a couple of other conventions in surrounding hotels that weekend. We were lucky to find a hotel room within walking distance and we booked over a month ago.

It will be interesting to see how crowded it really will be..........................

We are planning an October visit and I'm torn between Oct. 13-20 and Oct. 20-27. We do want to try to attend the Halloween event at DCA, but from what I've read either of these weeks will probably work for that. Any suggestions?

This Saturday is Deaf Awareness Day at DLR, does anyone know how much this impacts the crowds? My bro and his gf are going and would appreciate any and all info they can get!

We're taking our grandaughter (3 1/2) to DL for the first time the week-end after Memorial Day week-end and will be there a Thurs - Sat, May 31, June 1 and 2. I'm hoping that coming after the holiday and before Nemo we may not have crazy crowds - what do the APH's and regulars think?

We're hoping her first experience is easy-going and not too hectic. Thanks for any feedback!

Ok for awhile I have been keeping track of busy days/ dead days at the park in my dayrunner. From my notes last year, accroding to the boards, Oct 19th and Oct 24th were "dead days" But in general it appears that Mid week Mid Month were dead days. Tues Wed Thurs. However there seems to be a convention in town the weekend of the 19th becasue when I looked for a hotel, the 18 and 19th were like $100, but the next week 24th was $59.

I am probably going to go the 19th becaseu my husband has that day off.

We will be there May 19-24 for my DD's 21st BD trip. In addition to the Pirate's premier, I see there is a convention with an estimated 17,000 urologists in attendance. Anyone have a guess how that will impact attendance during those days?

We'll be in the park (unbeknownst to us at the time of booking) the week before Easter - from Monday, April 2nd through Thursday, April 6th (Easter is on Apr 8th)- I now know that this time is busy, can anyone shed any light on how busy or if it will be busier towards the end of the week(?) like I've heard elsewhere?

It won't matter to our travel, it will just help us prepare for whatever happens... ;)

Does anyone have a clue what it'll be like the week before Labor Day (August 26-31)? When do California kids go back to school? Will it be largely affected by the marathon participants, or will most of those folks be coming for the weekend only?
Thanks.

We always go when it is someone's Spring Break! This year we will be there on Easter and the week following.
We expect the crowds and work our fun around them. After all we are part of the crowd. I always go with my two dd and my granddaughter.

This year we had to go when my granddaughter is on Spring break. In the past we have taken her out of school, but the colleges were having Spring breaks.

We go to the parks early and leave for a break and then go back for the evening.

I am getting excited already!:D

Gramiangel - We'll be there the same time as you - I can't wait - I will be there with my dh, my mom and our two 5 year old boys - their first Disney vacation!!! If the crowds are too bad the boys will strapped into their strollers much of the time - otherwise they will be lost for sure!
Safe travels!!

Hi there, I am going to DLR with my almost 7 yr old daughter and my husband this week. We go usually 2-3 times a year. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas of how busy it might be this week? I thought March is usually fairly quiet but I noticed they are opened late all week. Anyone have any ideas on this.

Also the cheer convention starts Friday. I am sure there will be cheerleaders coming in early but not enough to make the park really crowded. I think this week is one of the last good week to go for awhile. Person who wrote thread about spring break and cheer convention was a busybody who just wanted to type somthing.

I was just there 3/11 to 3/16. It was busy. The best days were Tuesday and Wednesday, but by no means were any of our days "dead or quiet" days.

Also, there was a cheer convention on the 17th and 18th and on Friday the 16th the cheerleaders were out in full force! So, I would expect friday the 23rd to be the same. Also, it is spring break for MANY areas. My kids are on spring break from 3/12 to 3/25. I know a lot of other schools are as well. You can search the spring break threads from a while back if you don't believe me. Many year round schools also have the whole month of March off.

I can't really beleive how rude your post was. She asked a question- will it be busy and I answered her- yes it will be busy.
