View Full Version : How busy will the park be [crowds] [merged]?
jcruise86 02-14-2007, 03:27 PM I'm considering going to DCA tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 15.
Do you think the President's Day crowds will already be arriving?
How were the crowds today, Wed., Feb. 14?
No predictions for tomorrow? Anyone?:(

I'll be there today all by my lonesome. Fingers crossed for light crowds...:)
jcruise86 02-15-2007, 08:07 AM Thanks for writing back. It turns out I can't go.
I don't know about the crowds, but you are going to enjoy weather the people in the upper Midwest are now fantasizing about.
Have fun!
And just for writing back, here is my unrequested list of some of the things I would do if I could go alone:
In DCA: Soarin, Aladdin show
Disneyland: Haunted Mansion, Following Cruella on Main Street,
listening to the Firehouse Band (wrong name, good description)
In the GCH Lobby: Hang out with a beverage and read.
Off property: Walk next to HoJo's (past McD's) eat a big meal from Mimi's healthy menu and substitute some less healthy items to go with the main dish. Of course, in addition to this meal I would sneak food and beverages into the park so that I didn't eat any Disney food. Well maybe a bread bowl in DCA if I could get an AP discount.
I went alone once in Sept. or Oct. and took non-drowsy Dramamine and made it a coaster day. That was a pretty good day. The (PRE-Rockin') Space Mtn., well . . it rocked!

DisneyDustin22 02-15-2007, 12:33 PM Yes it will be crowded. People will be frustrated. Not since about...ohhh 5 minutes ago has a President frustrated so many people. :p
kdsmit07 02-17-2007, 09:56 PM I know there is expected huge crowds during the week before Easter, but I looked. There is no Fireworke or Fantasmic! Where will everyone go during the night? I am actually looking forward to not having 2 road blocks in the park...

You said it. :) It IS busy. We arrived for a semi-impromptu visit last night at about 7PM, and not a single FastPass was available. Is that normal in the evening on a super busy day?
At any rate, the weather's great and we plan to just loaf around the park today.
LaurensMom 02-18-2007, 10:51 AM We just went to Disneyland the week of Thanksgiving with our almost 2 yr old, and now we are ready to go back again. Any idea on how the crowds will be May 5-May 9? All the cheerleading, choir competitions, etc should be over with and kids should be in school.. I am assuming it will not be "light" but will not be jammed packed either?
ESS Heckler 02-18-2007, 03:47 PM Got to the parks yesterday about 2:00 (my flight was late....grrrrrr)
It's CRAZY. Three day weekend and great weather combined for some "summer-like" crowds.
Got a SM FP this morning at 10:00, not good until 4:00PM. 75 Min Standby time
Decided to go over to DCA.
Got a Soarin FP at 1:00PM, not good until 7:00PM.
75 minutes wait times on Soarin.
Tough to be a Bug was a Full House in DCA
There was a line almost off the pier for Margarita's.
Yesterday, ended up parking on the roof of the MAFPS. (never been that high up before!)
Back at the hotel now for a shower and a snack before we go back to tackle it all again.
squeeksqueek 02-18-2007, 04:44 PM Hi,
We are suprising our kids with their first ever trip to DL!!!! I am so excited I can barely stand it!!! Any ideas about the crowds that week? It seems to be the week before Spring Breaks but I would like some input. Thanks!!!:)
twokids 02-19-2007, 08:59 AM Hi everyone...
From reading I have heard that so far it has been crazy busy at DL but how about this afternoon? I was thinking of sneaking in a quick trip (just me and the kids) but kind of worried about the crowds and the weather;)
TIA!!
twokids 02-19-2007, 03:10 PM Anyone....
Katran 02-20-2007, 06:50 AM Hi,

I went last year during the first week of March and it was awesome. Light crowds, fairly short wait times for everything. Be prepared for rain, but that can be a good thing as almost everyone goes home if it rains hard enough, and you'll be able to walk onto pretty much everything.
Tisha 02-21-2007, 05:08 PM Anyone have any idea how crowds will be this Sunday, the 25th? It's the day of the Oscars, not sure if that'll lighten crowds or make it worse. Anyone been on Oscar Sunday before?
lbrackjo 02-21-2007, 05:10 PM How have crowds been now that the 3 day weekend is over??
Darkbeer 02-21-2007, 05:40 PM Seemed like a slow weekend day yesterday, looks like a lot of folks get Ski/Rodeo week off. I have some crowd shots in my photo album, along with a photo of the wait board.
JennyN 02-23-2007, 12:47 AM Can anyone tell me what the crowds are like at Easter time? We are considering visiting in April.
Darkbeer 02-23-2007, 07:59 AM Very Busy...
Spring Break time start Friday March 9th thru Sunday April 15th, but Disney considers Friday March 30th thru Sunday April 15th PEAK time, where they keep the park open until Midnight every day of the week, and offer a full slate of entertainment every day (With the exception of Aladdin, which is only offered 5 day a week year round).
The first week of April tends to be a bit busier than the second week, but they are both about the same as an average summer day at the park.
The last three weeks of March will be a bit lighter, but still very busy.
The last half of April will be a lot lighter, but then the park will be open less hours and offer less shows and entertainment, and you will find a few things closed for refurb.
screamin4ever 02-23-2007, 10:14 AM The crowds have never left since the 50th! On days when the hours are shorter, the crowds are still big and you get less time to fight them for rides that are open. Just plan on the resort to be a zoo no matter what for the next few years. There is no off season anymore.
samsma 02-23-2007, 10:18 AM We went over the busy Presidents day weekend, and I was worried about the crowds, I don't enjoy that many people all at once. Anyway, we were FINE. We did everything we wanted to do and then some. I think if you expect it to be busy, and get your fastpasses, you will be OK.We never waited over 20 min and rode space mountain 8 times. The lines for food were what I found to be the worst thing, so eat off peak times.

That's not true. We were there on a Saturday a couple weeks ago, and the crowds weren't that bad. We went on a number of Fantasyland rides, with about a 20 minute wait average.

Agreed. We just went the first week of February and the crowds were pretty light, especially on Thursday. Superbowl Sunday was busy, but not nearly as bad as I was expecting. Even on that day we never waited more than an hour for any ride, and most of them were less than 1/2 an hour.
quiz1 03-01-2007, 02:09 PM Hi all-
Planning a DL trip this month, were wondering if there was any time in particular this month that we should try to avoid due to possible spring break?
Darkbeer 03-01-2007, 03:41 PM Get here THIS week, Spring Break Large crowds start March 9th and go thru April 15th, there will be NO quiet days during those 5 weeks.
