Hello All,
Our trip to WDW is scheduled for Oct 28 - Nov 5. Getting close now.
We went to Disneyland today (we live close) and were greeted with massive crowds and huge delays in parking, fastpass, and foodservice.
Surfing the boards, it seems like DLR has had non-stop special events lately (AP blackout days ending, Bat Days, Halloween Overlays on Rides, Gay Days, Yom Kippur holiday etc..) that have been leading to unexpected surges in attendence.
As we have gone to great lengths in trying to get an 'off-peak' time to go to WDW, I'm left wondering if it's going to be as slow as we'd hope?!?!?
Both touringplans.com and tourguidemike seem to have a fairly rosy outlook for us, but have people been noticing the same spikes in the crowds at WDW that we have been having in CA?
Just Curious.
Thanks!

I was just saying the same thing in one of my other posts. Whenever we go to DL, no matter how hard we try to go at a slow time, it is always busy. It seems like there is always something happening in S. Ca. to bring in the crowds.

We just came back (9/17-9/24) and the crowds were minimal. Friday nights the MK closed at 6pm for that Halloween party which we decided not to attend. Blizzard beach was very UNcrowded also... it was so nice! Epcot seemed almost empty though they were getting ready for the food festival. We did not wait for rides ( 12 minutes for Pirates of the Carribean was the longest) and didn't even use fastpass too much ( twice for expedition everest and once for space mountain but we really didn't need to) I have to say it was the most enjoyable trip we have ever had, as we have gone in the reg previously.
Hope you have a fantastic time and small crowds!!!

After numerous trips this time of year I can say you should be pleasantly surprised. crowds, with the exception of the holloween party are generally lite. wait times for even the most populor attraction, with the exception of Soaring, are under 20 min. with most around 10 min or less. the exception, which looks to be a long shot this year, is if there is a hurricane nearby that would drive residents to WDW to escape for a few days. this happened to us last year when Wilma came through southern FL. WDW experienced crowds approaching summer levels for about 4 days afterwards as schools were closed and most people were without power.

Thanks all!
We'll just go and hope for good weather and light crowds!
It's not like we won't have fun even if we do have lots of company.

Hi-- We'll be there from 10/26-10/29, FYI it may be crowded over the weekend, many Florida schools are off from 11 am on thursday 10/26 until monday 10/30.
We know lots of people who are going up to Orlando for the weekend.
Maybe we'll "see" you there.

Thanks for the heads up! We're coming in on the afternoon of the 28th and will just chill at the POR. We're planning to go to AK on Sunday the 29th, so hopefully most Floridians will be heading to the MK for NSSHP or Epcot for Food and Wine! Maybe we'll have the place to ourselves on Monday! HA!
If you're going to AK on Sunday, look for a party of nine with two really adventurous old ladies in line for Everest first thing in the morning!!

I will also be at WDW on the 28th oct until the 5th of Nov. I am going on Halloween night to Mickey's Halloween party. I know it's sold out and so is Monday's party. I believe the Magic Kingdom will be crowded that day. I am hoping the rest of the parks are not that way.
