View Full Version : Looking for DLR and WDW CMs
DisneylandParisCM 09-30-2006, 09:12 AM Hi,
not sure where to post this, but I'm a new CM at DLP and I would be interested to get in touch with CMs at DLR,WDW, DCL to know how things work on the other side of the Atlantic.
Thanks
jcruise86 09-30-2006, 09:37 AM What country are you from? Do you have to provide your own housing? I used to work on Disneyland's Tomorrowland attractions and (sigh) the Jungle Cruise.
Back in the 80s we were paid $120,000 per year, provided with free housing in the apartments above Main Street and Adventureland, and given the use of cars called Mouse-mobiles. (They were modified BMWs.) Meals were, of course, free, and--as part of our 12 weeks of vacation time--the company paid for us to travel (first class air and suites at Disney Resort hotels) to the Disney parks in Orlando and Tokyo, provided we fill out a comments postcard.
Is this how it is for employees at Disneyland Paris today?
DisneylandParisCM 09-30-2006, 09:45 AM hi,
well, they provide us housing in residences around the resort, it cost 241€ per month and our meals are 3€ each at selected locations around the resort.
I'm starting a training period called HAT (Hote d accueil touristique) that lasts 15 months, where i have classes at the Disney university and training in merchandise, food and rides, 5 months each....
im French and super fan of Disney since 87 when we first went to WDW with my parents.
thanks for your insight

I may have stretched the truth a bit in my second paragraph. I'm in my 40s now and it's possible that I remember it differently than it was. I'm glad to hear that France has Disney Freaks just like America has. Maybe France, the U.S. and Japan should form The Free World's United Nations of Disney! It'd be no more stupid than John Lennon's song "Imagine."
DisneylandParisCM 09-30-2006, 10:08 AM I think you forgot Hong Kong too... Imagine all the people....
I'd love to go around the world to represent the French resort...
jcruise86 09-30-2006, 10:22 AM No, I didn't forget Hong Kong. I wrote "Free World's. . ."

Thanks for the info! I want to be a CM at one of the Disney parks, and DLP is my closest, so I'm keeping it in mind. How much French do you need to know if you want to work there? I have a French qualification, but due to certain circumstances I can't study it this year...any help would be great!:)
DisneylandParisCM 09-30-2006, 12:59 PM hi vegi,
you need to know enough french to understand the guests and talk to them in it... you 'll have a part of the interview in french to test you. all depends on the job you would like...
you can private message me anytime
you can also check out the disneylandparis website for the jobs they offer for uk candidates, right now they are looking for a lot of HATs (merchandise+food+rides)...
good luck

Thank you for the help! I'm not looking right now, because I'm still in college for a year or two, but I'm trying to find out as much as I can about it. Thanks again:)
DisneylandParisCM 09-30-2006, 01:22 PM you got KH2? I got it today also!

Vegitabeta 10-01-2006, 08:31 AM I started on standard mode, maybe I'll start again and do it on easy! I'm stuck with the first boss, that big white thing...
DisneylandParisCM 10-01-2006, 08:55 AM on easy mode, beat it on the 2nd try... when you're in mid air and they tell you to hit triangle, do it and you'll blast it very good otherwise, use cross and hit hit hit
