I've seen different opinions on strollers. What is the best thing to do? I have a 4-year old and a 20-month old. I know we will need a double stroller, but will it be easier to rest in the parks or take our own? I love our stroller, but it's a double jogger that can be rather bulksome. Will it be way too much trouble to fold up for the busses? How do they accommodate strollers on the busses? We're staying in the ASMR.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!!

I don't have any experience with jogging strollers but they do look very bulky so it might be a hassle on the bus. For our February 2001 trip to Disneyland we used a double stroller. At the time we had a 13 month old and an almost 3 year old. I brought the Kolcraft double umbrella-like stroller I'd found at Babies R Us. I also used that stroller when I walked our oldest daughter to school. It was a great stroller, not too expensive and folded up quite compactly. I found the latest model at the Kolcraft site, it's called the "Tour Mate" now. Here's the link if you'd like to take a look at it- http://www.kolcraft.com/product.aspx?id=83&&shopby=category

I also will need a stoller my next trip for we just had a new baby in June.We decided to bring our own for the convenience of use at the resorts as well..Boardwalk area, out to eat etc.I have seen many people on buses with them usually just placing them up near the driver.Hey its all part of the parenting game lol...renting was ok but confusing when you get off a ride and try to scope out yours from the many many others etc.Kathy:)

I would suggest bringing your own stroller for several reasons . . .

1. The kids are used to it, will sleep better in it and probably won't put up a fuss when you have to stick them in it (new strollers can be somewhat hard to get used to for a kid, I think)
2. You are used to the stroller. You know how to collapse the stroller in a flash (most likely) and when it comes to getting on shuttles, trains, etc., being able to do this is a plus (for you AND the people waiting in line behind you).
3. It's nice to know you don't have to turn the stroller back in at the end of the day. When the kids are asleep after fireworks, you get to wheel them out of the park. So nice! Just watch how you push it - people have complained more than once on this site about clipped heals from strollers.

If you are going with another person, having two small strollers might be easier than one big one in crowds.

I always hung our diaper bag on the back of our umbrella stroller and had the important stuff (camera, money, favroite souvenirs) in a seperate bag that I could take off to take with me on the rides. Stroller parking was never a problem for us and my son got used to the routine of getting in and out after a couple rides. It is hard not to have it in line, but we didn't really go on anything that required a long wait anyway. Stroller or not, it probably wouldn't have made for a very happy kid - or parents, for that matter! ;)

Enjoy the parks! You'll have a blast, I'm sure.

Yes, definitely bring your own stroller. My double stroller is long, as opposed to wide and gets onto the tram easily. I think the rental strollers at DLR are double joggers also and I don't recal seeing a place to place a diaper bag and all those goodies. Plus you can easily recognize which stroller belongs to you.

We always bring our own stroller. We also have a 4 year old and 20 month old. We never did the double stroller thing, too cumbersome, and our oldest is perfectly capable of walking, so we bought a "kiddie board' which attaches to the back of the stroller, so when she is tired of walking, as princesses are known to do, we attach the board and she stands on it and can watch everything. This has worked for us since baby brother was born. And was great for the 4 trips to DLR since the baby was born. You can store it in the stroller basket when not in use. ( people may trip over it if you park your stroller to enjoy attractions.)

We intend to bring it with us to WDW in Dec.

I had a friend bring her single jogger stroller to DLR and the thing was so bulky and did not turn very well, so a double one just might be too much for the crowds (and for the poor soul pushing it!)

Just my 2 cents worth. Have a wonderful trip!

Where did you find your kiddie board? I, too, had questions about strollers at WDW, and I love this idea.

We have also been looking at buying a double stroller at from a consignment store just for our trip and leaving it in Orlando at the end of the trip. We found several for around $75.

Best double umbrella stroller EVER! We used it as our regular stroller for our twins and it's very cheap.

We just got back from our trip, and FYI, the double stroller worked great. It was really no trouble at all on the bus. We just asked the driver to open the back doors every time so that we could hop on. It was perfect. I couldn't have made it with just a single...my 4-year old just got too tired. Thanks for all of the suggestions, though!!!
