I was watching Dancing with the Stars tonight on ABC... the first commercial break included a 1:30-2:00 Disney "dreams" commercial. It included different ABC stars talking about some of the their dreams, and the "Where Dreams Come True" anthem music was present. Other than a Copyright Disney in the corner, there was absolutely no mention of Disney Parks or the Year of a Million Dreams. It simply ended with a voiceover saying something like "Find out more about these dreams tomorrow"

Did anybody else see this? It struck me as very odd... I couldn't believe how long it lasted!

Yes, i was waiting for it and it was awesome!

also, a "dreams" halloween specific 60 second spot aired on FOX about 7:00pm PDT

and a "HalloweenTime" 60 second spot on KOST-FM about 6:00 pm

The comercial on abc during Dancing with the Stars really caught my attention, my hubby also watched it and was bewildered until I explained it all to him. The ending said to be continued...tommorrow same time... now darnit I have to watch whatevers in that time slot tommorrow!!! Thats Disney synergy not only a captive commercial but also captivating an audience to watch ABC at the same time slot .

You're absolutely right... I can't wait to watch tomorrow to see what is revealed. Great marketing!

Umm "Ugly Betty"?? I have to watch that in order to see the rest of the commercial? Sorry but it just doesn't appeal to me that much. Dancing with the Stars, yes. Ugly Betty, no.

I posted about this over at MiceChat too:

Anyone noticed that the "regular" YOAMD commercials now running use music from the Universal Peter Pan movie? (the one with Jason Isaacs as Mr.Darling/Capt. Hook)

How bizarre, eh?

They really are fantastic ads, but I can't figure out why they'd pay a competitor music-licensing fees when they've got 50-60 years of great music in their own vault.
