Today was the 75th day before our big Disney Cruise. I excitedly logged on all ready to reserve space for what is said to be a delicious brunch at Palo. But there was no Palo brunch available, I called Disney Cruise line and the really nice lady on the phone said they are no longer offering it on the four day cruises. So disappointed!!!

Did they ever offer it on the shorter cruises? I thought the brunch was exclusive to the 7-night cruises.

As far as I recall... for the shorter cruises, they only offered dinner services in the evening.

I believe there are additional options for the longer trips, though...

Apparently the four day always had brunch, I checked the website and it still lists the brunch on the four day cruise. Tea is exclusive to the 7 day cruise.

Bummer -- so did you book the dinner? (I've always wanted to eat there but we canceled our reservation last time because our waiters were so cool).

We haven't decided as yet if we should book the dinner. I'm leaning toward doing it, if it's the same night as Animator's palette, we'll just cancel. I wish you could know your rotation ahead of time.

You can kind of guess... but it doesnt always work.

PLA is mostly for adult-only groups
LAP is usually for teens/preteen
APL is for kid groups

again -- the above has been my experience, but isn't always the case

You might want to call your TA or DCL and see if you can request a rotation (if they'll let you).

So we are a mixed group with four children, so we can assume (loosely of course) that there is a chance the APL will be our first night?

I'm just going to book Palo for later in the week, if we have to cancel its not a big deal, I was sooooo looking forward to the brunch.

On a four-night they usually repeat you in whatever your first restaurant was.... so if you book for the last night, you won't miss anything :)

Hi guys,
We are going on the DIsney Cruise on Dec 9-16. Did you guys know that they have brunch at Palo's on the days we dock at Cozumel and Costa Maya? I questioned them about it because they gave us a res at 11am when we dock at Cozumel. Did anyone else get res on those days ?
Also has anyone done the Fury Catamaran at Cozumel?

Aloha,
Hawaiian Mickey

As a veteran of many DCL four-day and seven-day cruises, brunch was typically served on the one sea day for the four-day cruise and both sea days on the typical seven-day cruise (high tea at Palo is reserved for seven-day cruises only).

As recently as January, 2006, Palo was serving brunch on the four-day cruise, so the decision to discontinue it must have been a recent one.

Too bad - brunch at Palo is one of the most outstanding experiences offered by any cruise line. Truly memorable. During my last DCL excursion (the ten-day Southern Caribbean), I had the opportunity to talk with a high-level officer for DCL customer service. According to him, DCL WILL listen to guest reactions and comments - which is why the comment cards are so important to fill out at the end of the cruise. My advice would be to let DCL know that the decision to eliminate brunch is not at all popular with the masses.

I did recieve an email response to my question about the brunch from the cruiseline

The email stated that the brunch was all ready fully booked and that is why availability did not show, however that does conflict with what I was told over the phone.

We have a 4 - day cruise coming up in early December and were just able to make Brunch reservations without issue.

I have the feeling that whoever told you that the brunch is no longer offered on four-day cruises is misinformed. The website clearly still lists brunch being available on four and seven-day cruises, and this kind of permanent cancellation would have merited some discussion or news blog on one of the many Disney websites.

More likely than not, since Disney only makes a limited number of reservations for Palo (and other guest services) available online, I would hazard to guess that it's not available for you simply because all of the available online reservations have been exhausted.

When you board the Wonder (as early as you can, by the way - usually between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon) run (don't walk) to the Palo reservations station (usually Wavebands) and make your Palo brunch reservation personally. You'll likely wait in a bit of a line, but it's oh so worth it.

That's what we'll be doing, I was just surprised as I went online at the first possible moment that we could book and it wasn't showing any sort of availability.
