Hi all.
I swear, we leave in 2 days and then you won't hear from me till I get back!!:D
My darling husband (who's idea of planning a vacation is handing me the credit card) would like to know if there is a gym at POFQ or elsewhere in the Kingdom for his use?
Thanks!
Jess

There are health clubs at different Deluxe resorts (but not all of them) from what I know, but not at POFQ. This is per some of the fact sheets (http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/faq_hot.htm) at allearsnet.com that I was looking at recently.
I do not think they allow "hopping" between the resort hotels for health club use, though. Someone else may be able to verify.
With humor, you would think that with all the walking you will be doing, working out would be the last on the list of recreational ideas. :)
Have a great time on your trip!

Thanks for posting that. I see there is an $8 per day charge to use the health club at the Dolphin (I'm going there soon). For an $8 fee, that better be a darn good health club.

My darling husband (who's idea of planning a vacation is handing me the credit card) would like to know if there is a gym at POFQ or elsewhere in the Kingdom for his use?The MousePlanet guide page for Port Orleans French Quarter is located here (http://www.mouseplanet.com/guide.php?pg=BLR000). There isn't a workout room, but there is a walking trail. If your husband is a runner, he could jog on that. It connects with the thrail through the Port Orleans Riverside area.
There are health clubs at the deluxe resorts and at the Coronado Springs Resort (the only moderate with a gym). Last time I was at WDW (august), I stayed at the CSR and there was a sign posted inside the gym that said that it cost a certain amount to use the gym. In all honesty, you could probably get away with walking in and using the equipment without ever having to prove that you are a guest of that resort. There was a sign-in sheet, but I would say that only half the people that entered the gym actually used it, and I never had to show ID. Not that I condone lying about where you are staying, but these are the facts! I think the fee was around $10 to use the gym as a guest. The gyms are really nice, much better than the ones I've been in at other hotels ... I don't know if I would pay $10, but they are nice.

Whenever I've stayed at POR I've always been surprised at the number of people who are running that trail in the morning. It's really nice, too, since it goes along the river there between the two parts of Port Orleans. I didn't notice them as much when staying at POFQ, but I think that's just because I didn't walk along that path in the morning due to room location.
