Hello: Checked in search to see if this had already been discussed but could not find anything.
My daughter and I will be going to the DLR and staying at the DL hotel in early November (business trip for me, w/ a nice day off for us both). She is completely potty trained during the day, but has accidents amost every night. Once 3X in a night! I do limit her liquids before bedtime and it does not guarantee dry sheets the next morning.
What is the best plan for protecting the hotel bed? :eek:
I have a plastic sheet I can put under the sheets, but that won't help the sheets. Bring my own sheets too? Talk to the hotel personnel?
Open to suggestions --thanks!

Well.....a couple of suggestions. 'Cause I've been there, done that.
What I did for my son was to buy a giant, I think it is called, lap pad? Could be wrong, I remember putting it down when I changed diapers. I went to Toys R Us and found a top sheet sized pad. The problem is when they do wet it, you have to wash it. I was fortunate it wasn't 'used'. {maybe buy a couple? I think the resort has laundry facilities...}
The other thing is using the pads that are used in the hospital. I have no idea what they are called but, I think you may know what I am talking about.
Where to get them? A medical supply store? Rite Aid?
Good luck. :)
And an after thought, perhaps by that time this won't be an issue? :0) *crossing fingers*

They are called Chux Pads, and are OH SO handy. Use Google and you should be able to find places that sell them.

Do you agree that they would work in this situation? That would be great to know, for future reference in my case {grandkids, someday!!!}

We have a little guy here who is completely potty trained during the day also but still has bed time accidents. We just have him put a pullup on at night. Sure makes a LOT less laundry and mess and he isn't laying there in a wet bed.

Just and FYI, the pads are easy to find ... look in the section of your local target, walmart whatever where they keep the depends type products...they are great, inexpensive and protect the mattress well.

I used to keep them around for everything. Handy for sick kids, new puppies, and a lot of other things. If water intake is limited before bed, and the Chux is under the child, it would work. If they roll around a lot and it gets balled up and they aren't on top of it, it won't work.
Personally, I would go with a pull up at night just to be safe.

I would definitely go with pull-ups at night. If you're not willing to do pull-ups then use the waterproof pads on the bed.
Thanks for all the great ideas, everyone!
I was hesitant about the pullups because I didn't want to set her back with her potty training. But the travel convenience of pullups for a time that she has the most accidents is making sense to me. I think I'll try the Chux ... for nights when I don't want to do laundry the next day ;) .
