Okay, I've got another question about taking our 2.5 year old to DisneyWorld in January... I hope this is the correct forum.

At first, we were thinking of leaving Saturday morning to arrive late afternoon, early evening on Saturday. But now, knowing that in the off-season, certain things (parades, fireworks) only run on weekends, and there are earlier closings during the week (as early as 5pm?), I am wondering if we ought to leave on a Friday to get an extra weekend day in, or will saturday late afternoon and sunday give us a chance to see fireworks and parades, and then it is better to have more weekdays (less crowds?).

Thoughts?

The hours are posted on the WDW website for January (and Feb and March!). I'd just go look at the time you're interested in, and when you select an individual day, it'll tell you when the fireworks/nighttime parade/other stuff are running that day! You should be able to see most of the nighttime things without having to arrive on Friday, even in the offseason.

Also, in late January through Early March there is the new 'party' - Pirates and Princesses - (official info here (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/parks/specialEvents?id=PiratesandPrincessPartySpecialEve ntPage)) but yours might be too young for that and the timing.
