I picked up the new Annual Passholder brochure, and it stated that the new Stroller Pass option for Annual Passholders will start to be offered on October 20th.
It is $49, and will NOT be prorated. So you might not want to get it until you renew if your AP is about to expire.
It is good for one stroller rental per day.

Gosh! at DLP (Paris) we paid 160€ for 16 months of fun, free parking, free wheelchair, locker and stroller rental! it's the AP Dream, the most expensive they offer here, but they really seem to offer more benefits than the DLR APs.
With ours, our guests pay their tickets with 20%discount, 10% off marchandise and food, and up to 30% off for hotels.

Just wondering...Does anyone know if this new AP add on will stop the Disney Visa free stroller promotion? We have only used it a few times but it seems like Disney is taking all of the perks of using other companies services away. I personally won't pay for the option on my AP since I would rather spend $49 towards the purchase of a stroller that I like :(

I was going to say, just get the Disney Visa AP - you get two free stroller rentals every day.

I wonder if a large number of APs use strollers or is this Disney's attempt to woo them into renting strollers instead of bringing our own?

I think the $49 AP stroller rental is a good deal if your kids are three to five years old, but not so good if you have a child less than three years old.
We presently use our own stroller to bring in blankets, a 2 liter bottle of soda, an ice chest of food for lunch and dinner, toys, newspaper, snacks (chips, cookies), and other items that go with having a one and three year old. Oh, yea, we also bring in the kid in the stroller. The disneyland strollers (http://www.queue.com/Disneyland.080305/Disneyland.080305-Thumbnails/45.jpg)do not seem to have much room in them for an ice chest of food and the other items. We would have to carry them by hand anyway to the gate to rent a stroller. Here is an older article on the topic [link (http://www.mouseplanet.com/akrock/akrock2.htm)].

I just checked the Disney (Visa) Chase website this week and it says that their free stroller rental offer expires September 30th!
I smell a plot for moneymaking with that new AP ad-on fee for stroller rentals!
