I admit I have not yet called Dell, but the up arrow key on my Dell Latitude popped off along with a little piece that flew in the air and has now entered oblivion because I did not see where it landed and personall think it disintegrated. Anyhow, I AM going to check to see if my service contract is still up with Dell...otherwise, where else could I go to get a replacement key installed? How proprietary are laptop keys?

I do need to know, but I AM also curious about it at the same time.

i'm pretty sure the whole keyboard unit would have to be replaced.

I broke a key on an inspiron 7500, and I was able to get Dell to ship me just the key. Snapped right on. Still under warranty though, so I don't know how much it would be.
