does anyone out there have any definative news on the fate of Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA. Ive been hearing rumors for months now, and anything i read that seems reputable is contradicted the next day by another "reputable" source.

It will operate in 2007 as a Six Flags Park, and is one of the major profit makers. They are trying to sell off a group of 6 parks, with Magic Mountain being the "Jewel" of the package to raise money to help convert the rest of the chain as a regional alternative to a long distance vacation to Disney or Universal.

No major announcements have been made, but if you are planning a vacation, no worries, the park wil be open for at least another couple of years, and hopefully a lot longer, as Six Flags would prefer to sell to another Park Operator (the Blackstone folks are the folks most mentioned as they own the LEGOLAND parks and part of Universal Orlando)....
