We will be celebrating my youngest child's birthday during our stay at DLH in November! I want him to feel like we officially celebrated his birthday, so I'm planning to make reservations for a special meal. I've read that Goofy's Kitchen has a birthday bag, and that there is also a party of sorts you can reserve at the Plaza Inn. Does anyone here have experience with both? How much does the Plaza Inn celebration cost? We are already planning on doing the Princess character meal and the Storytellers Breakfast (since we're staying at GCH), so I sort of wanted to avoid another character meal, but I also want a nice birthday memory for my little boy. Suggestions? Opinions? Thanks to everyone!

We did the Plaza Inn bday with Mickey, Minnie, and Pat. E. Cake as the hosts for my DDs 6th bday and it was so much fun. It's $10 per person and everyone gets to decorate their own cake. Each person also gets a souvenir cup filled with punch and the bday kids get to dance with Mickey and Minnie, take pics, and get autographs. They also hand out birthday hats and sing Happy Birthday. You can order the birthday goodies as well for an additional fee.
It was well worth the $10 per person.

You should definitely do the Plaza Inn, it is pretty cool.

Plaza Inn. We've gone for my oldest when he was 3 and for my twins' 2nd birthday. We'll be going in Nov for my youngest's 2nd birthday this year too.
If you have an AP you get a discount there as well.

The Pat E. Cake character sounds really fun--I'm sure Tristan will love it. He gets so giggly at the mere mention of going to DL, so celebrating his birthday there will be the most exciting event of his life! I will be calling this coming week for Priority Seating for the rest of our trip, so do I just reserve the birthday "party" at that time? Is this something that will need to be paid for ahead of time, or do we pay when we are there? Also, is the $10 fee for the children participating, or does it also apply to Mom and Dad too? One more thing, is this something that can be done at the end of lunch or dinner, or is it done separately? Sorry for all the questions, I just don't want to leave anything to chance when it comes to my "baby!" :geek:

I liked the Plaza much much more than Goofy's Kitchen, and an added plus is that you are already in the park. The Plaza's character interactions were much longer and we actually saw all of them. At Goofy's some skipped our table, both times we went.

It's only scheduled at certain times during the day. I think we did ours at 2pm? They may have another one at a different time too. But definately call ahead and make reservations. It's $10 per person. You pay for mom, dad, child and anyone else that wants to come but each person (adults included) gets their own little cake to decorate.
