After extensive consideration regarding user requests to make our news items posted in the News forum open for discussion to our MousePad users, the moderators are pleased to announce a solution.

Instead of allowing discussion in the News forum, we have determined that copying the article into the appropriate forums as regular threads would be the best approach at this time.

Articles will be identical to those provided to our readers in the News forum, with the exception that they will be placed in the appropriate topic forums, and will be open for response.

Please note that the News and Announcement forums are still announcement-only, and articles in these forums can only be posted by moderators.

Thank you.

Um, this is kind of confusing. So you're saying that if I want to have a news item I post it in the Lounge, and then you'll move it?

I'm lost.

The news forum is where MousePlanet staff members will post links to articles that we think will be of interest to our site readers. This is the current home for our news page, linked from the main page of MousePlanet.

The news forum is "read only".

In order for people to discuss items in the news forum, the moderator who posts an article will copy it in to the appropriate forum. For example, an article about WDW will be posted to the WDW forum. An article about a movie studio will be posted to the General Entertainment forum.

If readers want to discuss a news article posted by a MousePlanet staff member, then they can discuss it in the forum with the copy of the news post.
