I'm determined to learn the Haunted Mansion and fireworks games in VMK to help my daughter complete some of her quests.

I'm looking for help/tips on how to play the ghost-catching game. As I understand it, to move your character, you move your mouse (not click and drag; just move) until you're next to a ghost of your color, then you press control until the ghost disappears.

Other than avoiding opposite colored ghosts, is that all there is to it? It seems like my character will move fine until an opposite colored ghost is near me; then it's like it waits to get caught. About half the time that I'm near one of my colors -- but not near enough to get it -- it also seems to stop moving.

Argh, it feels like I'm playing on a dial-up modem (but I'm on DSL). It's so selectively non-responsive to the mouse movement that I'm wondering if there is something else I'm supposed to be doing.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

You can also use you arrow keys to move your character, I found that actually helped alot once I got the hang of it. Good luck, I still ask my husband to do fireworks for me and pertty much only play haunted mansion if he is the only one I am playing against. I know I suck, but it works for us. I used to be pretty good at pirates but not so good anymore but that might be because I have been playing less.

Well, I use the mouse also, and I think the same about the moving and stuff. Mine starts going the opposite way to my mouse and all kinds:rolleyes:

Have to say though, lately I've been getting better at it, even though I only play when I have to for quests and stuff. All I can say is, keep playing and you'll get more used to it.

I believe the mouse is the perfect way to play the Mansion. Though it occasionally screws up, it mostly works better for me.

I think when you push the control button your character stops moving until the the ghost catcher (white light) stops.
