What are the best permanent (theme park) and temporary (halloween) haunted houses you've ever been in?

I love all of Disney's, but I also enjoyed one in Niagara Falls. The Canadian side of the falls has a touristy (think Wisconsin Dells) area with a few haunted houses. I went on one that made me wish America had fewer lawyers because they did things (like having the floor drop) that I think Americans would avoid out of fear of lawsuits. In one totally dark room a sinister voice asked, "What's your favorite scary movie?" I tried to be a wise guy and responded, "Bambi!" and was delighted when this voice responded, "You're gonna die like Bambi's mom!" I wouldn't want that in a Disney park, but there is a place in the world for "parks general."

I've heard there is a great haunted house in the SF Valley North of L.A. at Halloween and I've read that some religious groups put on good haunted houses to literally scare the he-- out of people. Please share your experiences!

I don't go to many haunted houses to know the fine points.

But last year, I did splurge and go to KNOTT'S BERRY FARM "Halloween Haunts."

Thumbs up.
They "did the job."

I could complain.
But I think the quality was as good as it was supposed to be.

A few years ago, there was a haunted house at Anaheim Stadium, and I thought that was well done.
I didn't see Anaheim Stadium (or Edison Field) have any ones ever since.

There's Spooky World at Gillette Stadium in MA, Octobers. I can't say how it is, I used to work for Spooky World a LONG time ago when it was in Berlin, MA, and back then it was . . . fun. I can't say it was scary because of course I saw all the sets 50 times a night for 31 nights in a row, so I'm a bad judge, lol. I have NO idea what it is like now, but maybe someone from MA knows.
