I haven't been to Orlando in twelve years, so obviously Islands of Adventure wasn't there the last time (although I did love the rest of the park). I was just checking out ticket prices online, and a two day pass for both parks is 115 dollars a person (I would want to go to both parks). I have two other people going on the trip with me, and we're on a budget so 345 dollars for three people is a bit more than I'd like to spend. Does anyone know of any special deals on the park? I was also curious to know if the Disney buses still go over to Universal. I'm pretty much looking for any sort of input at all... So even if you want to tell me that going to the park would be a waste of time, it'd be much appreciated.

disney buses most definitely do not go to universal. mears operates a shuttle service which will pick you and deliver you back to your disney resort. i believe it's $17pp round trip. a private car/taxi should run you about $70 round trip.

OK so it's been a while since you have been there, some things you should know before we continue.
first of all Disney busses never have made the trip there, you either took a mears shuttle over or you are getting universal and disney studios confused.
second, by your post it looks like you might be under the impression that IOA and USF are one park, they are not, rather two seperate parks.
So on to your question. Like disney USF prices their tickets to make cheaper for longer stays. two days there is little price break, althoug they offer a ticket that gives you five days for the price of two.
that being said there is little chance you can get two days at USF for less, but you can try AAA or www.ticketmania right now ticketmania is offering three tickets that are marginally cheaper. a two day ticket for $107 ea, and oddly enough a three day ticket for the same price. they also offer a one day two park ticket for $76 which would be tight, but if you are going in the off season could work for a whirlwind trip.

Yeah, it must have been a shuttle then. I was only eight years old the last time I went... It was my first time, and I never had the chance to go back... So the whole thing is pretty confusing.
Could one of you please tell me if the parks are next to each other? I was under the impression that they were, but I really didn't have any reason for thinking so... I understood that they were two parks, but I figured if I got the two day pass with tickets for both parks so that once I got sick of IOA (which I'd really love to check out), then I could just head over Universal Studios without another shuttle or anything. If they're far away from one another, I'd probably just go to IOA since it'd be cheaper anyway.

the park entrances are so close, it's scary.
well, not as close as Disneyland and DCA, but definitely walkable and possible to park hop. there's a little stretch of citywalk to go through.
it's sort of like a Y where the | part is citywalk and the v is the citywalk portion you go through to go between the two parks, although it's more of a u.

Oh and just a btw: you can buy an annual pass on the UniversalStudios web site for $115. I know, kind of crazy that you can buy an AP for the same price as a two day park hopper. The only limitation of the "Power Pass" annual pass is that it has blackout dates for the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, New Years and Easter.
We love doing the AP thing because then we have the luxury of deciding on any given day if we want to go back to UStudios as many times as we want and not feel like we are wasting any money.
