so in a half joking way we noticed that many rides at D land have a scary/evil plot to them (and yes for the most part good prevails but...) we never noticed how much for instance
Just a few
In Mr Toad you visit hell
In Snow White it ends scary but then a book says "They lived happly ever after"
Tower of Terror, well need I say more?
We didn't not take the kiddos on the ride but we did go wow I guess "The happiest place on earth" isn't so happy
so my question is
Are there any rides you don't take YOUR kids on because of the plot?

The funny part is, I never noticed the "dark" plots as a kid. It is now as an adult that I think, "was this ride always this scary?" LOL!

I'm 35 and the Hell part of Mr. Toad still gives me the willies.
I think it's a great question. I have a 6 month old girl and DH and I were just talking abou this at the park this past weekend.
We have not reached a decision. Hoping this thread will give us some valuable insight.

yes as I child it never scared me either but here is what we started talking about
The scary parts on Snowwhite etc didn't scare us as we knew the ending of the story however many children don't grow up watching these classics now, instead they watch Monsters Inc ect and so the plot is new to them.

My son has Sensory Processing Dysfunction. Most of the "kiddie" rides in Fantasyland terrify him!!! Poor Max!

I also never found them scary as a kid. But when you really think about it most of the old Disney movies had not some scary plots or moments to them (even though it always ended happily).
Snow White's stepmother hated her and tried to poison her
Cinderella was made a slave in her own home
Belle was forced to live with a scary, mean beast
Pinnochio - smoking and drinking!!! at that carnival place(can't remember the name)
.....just to name a few.

I don't keep my kid off of any of the scary themed rides at all. A good mix of good vs. evil, pure fantasy, doesn't harm them. My son knows that it is all pretend. We have been taking him on all of these rides since he was 1.5 years old and he has only been a little scared once....Toads ride. It was the noise, not the ride that scared him.
