We are booked for the Western Carribean cruise on 11/4/06.
Went the same time last year and due to the hurricanes we went to Costa Maya
instead of Cozumel and had a great time. I heard that Cozumel is accepting cruise ships again...has anyone been there? How was it?

We were there in February. They were still re-building the dock so all the cruise ships had to tender in which was a nightmare. There was still lots to do and lots of shops were open but it was very apparent that it would take a long time for the region to recover.

Thanks.....can you tell me why the tending was so terrible? How did it differ from
Grand Cayman?

Grand Caymen tendering was more organized. Cozumel had too many ships in at the same time and all trying to tender. I'm sure by now they have worked the tendering out or possibly have the pier working.

We were on the Sept 9th Western sailing and the tendering to Cozumel was just fine. We only had about an hour to explore as we did the Tulum Ruins trip that day. It wasn't my cup of tea as I am not a shopper and we had to limit ourselves to staying pretty close to the tendering area.

When we went to Cozumel years ago it rained and rained and rained but it would only last for a few minutes and then stop. The ruins at tulum are cool, but the last time I was in Cozumel I walked around for about an hour and then went back on the ship (didn't see anything I wanted to buy and wasn't that into drinking).
