My 11 month old may soon be transitioning from his formula to whole milk. Is the milk sold in the Park 2% or whole? I even drank it the last time I was there, but I can't remember.

Thanks to any Moms/Dads who know this one. :)

Only certain places sell whole milk. I think the coffee place next to the ice cream place on Main Street is one of them. Plaza Inn might have it too. Over in California Adventure, I think Wine Country Trattoria has it. My friend once bought a cup of whole milk from the Wine Tasting place (they got it from the restaurant next door).

Dopeywife is right, its an random places. I know White water snacks at the GC has both. I think Red Rockets in tomorrow land has both.

I wouldnt worry about it too much. I know they recomend whole milk at that age, but a couple cups of 2% isnt going to be harmful. The whole milk recomendation is to make sure their brains are getting enough fat.

Yep, the Plaza Inn has whole milk, as does the restaurant in Fantasy Land (Village Haus???) It is the one across from Casey Jr. Oh, another place that does is the Refreshment Corner (?). I should go double check w/ a map for the real names! :)

ETA: OK, I checked the names and those are right.

I also wanted to add that this is just a list of places I have tried to get whole milk. I am sure there are many others!!

Remember whole milk is only 3% to 3½%, so if you do end up with 2% it's really not that big of a difference for a day or two. You really just want to say away from skim or non-fat.

Even skim for a day or two isn't an issue if you aren't cutting fat elsewhere. My oldest daughter drank skim from 18 mos on. She didn't like regular milk. We added cheese and other milk fats.

As far as whole milk, Blue Ribbon Bakery has whole milk, but they give you a cup of it, not the boxes.

Oh, that is a good point, Malcon10t, the places I listed above sell an 8 oz carton of whole milk. :)

This doesnt answer your question but on our last trip I found cases of boxed milk at Smart and Final that does not require refridgeration. We took our own to the parks. I cant remember if they had whole milk or just 2%.

BTW, we drove so it was no big deal to haul a case of milk but if you are flying that would probably be different story.

Ok, I know this does not answer your question, but we took in powdered milk. Our daughter is on goat's milk and I knew there was no chance of my finding goat's milk in Disneyland. So I just took in bottles with the powdered goat's milk already measured out and just added bottled water when she needed a bottle. It was very simple and I did not have to worry. You might consider carrying powdered whole milk for your child.

Our experience has been that pretty much every Disney-owned restaurant at the DLR has whole milk, but that they usually stock 2% in larger quantities. This results in some locations running out of whole milk faster, which leads to the perception that what places do or don't carry it is somewhat random. At buffeteria or scramble service locations where the milk cartons are kept in a self-service location, don't hesitate to ask if there isn't any whole milk out there. In most cases, we found that they just hadn't noticed that it was out and the CMs could go get us some from the back.

Keep in mind that a few of the smaller locations don't carry milk at all, so you may occasionally have to go somewhere else to get it.

I know this thread is about DLR, but I also thought it would be worth adding that we found that many of the dining locations at Walt Disney World only had whole milk in a larger-sized container. On our last trip, I ended up drinking a lot more milk than I normally do, since we had leftovers that would have otherwise gone to waste. Fortunately, I've never seen that situation at Disneyland at all.

I would just bring some formula with you. Baby's Only has a toddler formula. This would be easy to keep in your bag for the times you can't find whole milk.

Thanks for posting this!! My daughter will be 18 mo when we go in Oct. and drinks whole milk and I didn't want to have to bring my own in and worry about keeping it cold. I was just about to post this ? myself. I wouldn't have a problem just giving her 2% for a couple days but one time I tried to give her some and she wouldn't drink it! Little stinker!!

Thats how we weaned my daughter (MickeyDogMom) from the bottle. Whole milk was in a cup, skim in the bottle. First time, she took one suck and flung the bottle.
