AUGUST NEWS
Most of California roasted in July, but Boardwalk temperatures were perfect! Delighted visitors could be heard breathing sighs of relief as they reached the ocean air.
Want to know what you are missing? Check out the audio slide show on the San Jose Mercury's website, it's like a mini-visit! http://www.mercurynewsphoto.com/2006/07/11/boardwalk/
An episode of RV Roadtrips featuring a Los Gatos family's visit to New Brighton Beach and the Boardwalk airs August 11th on the DIY network. A new version of Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA in the Arcade is bringing
dance fans from around the Bay Area.
Enthusiasts tell me that our DDR SuperNOVA is one of the few in Northern California. The new game is located near Fisherman's Galley, it's amazing to watch!

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk FUN FACTOID
Did you know?
In 1927 the Shell Oil Company buried $10,000 worth of “treasure” (prizes) in the sand near the Boardwalk. Thousands of people dug, raked, and scrambled for about two hours until every prize was claimed. Shell also threw a Pirate Ball in the Casino and staged a Pirate Carnival and Baby Pirate Parade on the Boardwalk. It was quite a weekend!
See you at the beach!
