Christmas will be our next trip after this and we will spend more just because it is the holidays. We do this and buy very few gifts since we all have more than we need already. We have a great rate at the PP so accomadations will be about the same without meals included.
When are you going in December? We are from the Reno area as well, and will be there December 11-15.
Okay, total cost. I can’t remember our last trip, but here is what I have in mind for our September trip
Tickets-annual passes
Hotel-Grand Californian 3 nights 1800
Food Goofy’s Kitch-100 Blue Bayou- 100 Storytellers-100 other assorted meals-200
Total food 500
Souvenirs, experiences, etc 400
Gas I really don’t know maybe 200 (maybe not that much)
Total 2900.

Infinite, we will be there about the same time. I think we are there Dec 12-18. I am really excited since we had such a good time last year the week between Christmas and NYE. This will be our first time on property and will get EE three days of our stay. The PP rate was actually cheaper than Homewood Suites, no food included but we will be so happy to be on property we can buy our own donuts and yogurt.
We usually spend about $150 rt on gas since the price is higher in California than it is here. We are renting a van from now on because our five year old van is showing it's age. Still a lot cheaper than flying.

We live in Northern Nevada... and fly out of Reno.
March 2005:
5 round trip tickets from Reno to SNA & 4 nights at the Desert Palms- $900 (Expedia)
4 - 4 day park hoppers (adults for kids price) $525?
$800 covered everything else... food, shuttle (limo & van), a few souviners (but the girls had saved their own money for BAB.) - we ate carefully, I would say... as in making sure we all shared so we could try more places, but we ate in the park for the most part, ordered pizza into the hotel one night, I had packed juice boxes & other dry snacks in our suitcases... we bought water at a convenience store and we did one character meal (Princess Breakfast at the Plaza Inn.) We came home with about $150 in cash not used.
Great trip! Around $2000-2200.
March 2006:
6 round trip tickets from Reno to SNA $1020 (we took our niece, and gas went up!) Flying is worth every penny to us though. Personal choice.
6- 4 day parkhoppers from GAT, buy an adult get a child free $540 (great deal IMO)
3 nights ate the Park Inn Anaheim (now the Camelot Inn) in a family suite. $357. We did take advantage of their very low budget breakfast and took hot chocolate/coffee, muffins, and apples with us.
We again took $800 cash. That again handled food, souviners (minimal), shuttle to & from SNA, and our character meal at Goofy's kitchen.
So $2600-2700 total.
*We looking at going again in March 2007 and bringing dh's parents. We prefer the off season... even having never been there during the busy times, I can say with confidence, we wouldn't do well. There are a few things down & not scheduled in Mar... but we've done ok. We've seen fireworks, Fantasmic, parades (including Electrical), etc.

Hi,
My hubby and I are considering moving out of state due to cost of living in CA but I'm worried the Disney Bug would bite us hard once we left. Right now Disneyland only costs us 2 annual passes a year and the occasional dinner. My question is what is the average cost for those coming from out of state.
The following info would be most helpful:
# of days
# of people in party
hotel onsite or off
food onsite of off or both
total cost of trip with flight, hotel, food, extras
Thank you for your help. I gots to budget our Disney fun.:D
I live oin Montana we fly, and stay off site. and for 5 days at a time..
last trip with my daughter and i....17 hundred dollars. for disneyland package..... park tickets , motel,( holiday inn at the park (a great motel)food vouchers, flights. and we spent another 300.00 shopping and buying dinners for others. total 2,000 dollars
We drive down from Canada
# of days: 5 in the park, 6 days total travel time (3 days each way)
# of people in party: 5. two adults, an 18 year old, 16 year old and a 14 year old
hotel onsite or off: A good neighbour hotel
food onsite of off or both: Mostly offsite
total cost of trip with flight, hotel, food, extras: $5,000 (this includes our travel gas/hotel/meals. It's still cheaper than flying for us)

You can also just buy the tickets, at this same deal from Disney off the official Disney website.

We will be there this year from Dec. 13-20th. Maybe we will see some of you.
We are staying at the DLH and got 6 day park hoppers, it was about $2000. Then we have airfare from PDX, probably about $600. That would be for myself, my husband and my son (age 12). Oh, and we went through AAA for the enhanced fastpass - I am so excited!
