I have a picture of my children with a Dodger baseball player. The problem is, when I got the pictures back, they each had a shadow over their faces due to everyone wearing baseball caps. Is there a way that I can take the picture (yes I have the negative) someplace and have it printed in a way that the shadows are lightened up and the faces can be seen better? If this can be done, where would be the best place to do it, and how much do you think something like this would cost? This is a once in a lifetime photo and I really want to be able to see it. Thank you for your help!

Try going to a store that has the print your own pictures kiosk. Walmart, Target and plenty of other stores have them. Follow the directions on the machine and when you get to the part where you can edit there should be something that lets you lighten the picture. You may be able to get it so the shading is less noticable. If you get it to were you really like it you could make 5x7's/8x10's (and other sizes) to frame.

the only thing there is if you brighten the entire photo, it's all going to be the same. you may get the faces visible, but the rest of the photo will start to wash out.

with photo editing software, you may be able to get away with selecting and brightening specific areas without compromising the quality. you don't want to end up with a photo that looks like it's been edited either.
