BESIDES the child care center at the end of Main Street and the one in DCA, where are the best places (i.e. restrooms) to change diapers in the parks, in Downtown Disney, and at the resort hotels? There are many moms in this section and I'm a dad, so most of you probably won't know much about the changing tables in the men's rooms, but any info would be appreciated! Also, if you know the location of any family restrooms (where you can lock the door--like Ikea has) that would be appreciated. Sometimes small handicapped restrooms have changing tables, but I'd rather not use a restroom that has been designated as handicapped.

I can't think of a single DLR restroom I've been to that didn't have at least one nice clean changing table/tray (I don't know what you call them) with extra large paper towels available to spread out underneath your baby (if you need or want).

Can't speak for the men's room, but I've gotta assume they all have the same...at least I hope they do.

I recommend the tables in the Golden Horseshoe Saloon, especially if you can do it right before a show.

A perusal of the Happiest Potties (http://www.mouseplanet.com/potties/) should answer your questions (and probably some you haven't thought of yet!)

Where to change a baby, you ask?

I once saw some incredibly talented people, while standing in a crowd for a Disneyland parade, change a baby in midair. One pair of hands hoisted said youngster up in the air, above the heads of a crowd of people who could not move and were able to watch this phenomena whether they wanted to or not. Then another set of hands reached up and removed the apparently full diaper from the youngster, who, for a moment or two was held aloft without covering. I'm sure that those closest to this act of daring and bravery were holding their breath in hopes that the replacement diaper would arrive before it might be needed again...and, ta da! their hopes were not in vain! Probably a very good thing because that particular crowd happened to be very crammed in the space, it was hot, and there had already been some ugly displays of people having short tempers and not just pushing one another but taking some swings (and I don't mean the playground kind) at someone else, along with some language that might not have been considered appropriate for Disneyland's family atmosphere.

So...if you asked the Cirque Du Diaper crew I watched, I think the response would be, "Oh, anyplace you please."

On the other hand, *I* would recommend the Baby Care Center, with its squeaky clean changing tables, cool ceiling fans, and lovely quiet atmosphere.

Babies changed mid-air, or on bar tables as crowds are entering (Thanks!)--I guess my daughter's diapers will join over 50 million (90 million?) that have been replaced all over Disneyland.

And once again "The Happiest Potties in Earth" has given me more wisdom than I expected! I can't wait to dispose of her poop in the spacious Hungry Bear men's room. What would I do without my fellow MousePlanet Disney freaks? Sniff. (Wipe tear.)

Off-hand, I can't think of any Men's room at the DLR that doesn't have a changing table, although they aren't always in the most convenient location in some of the smaller ones. Looking through the "Happiest Potties" pages is definitely a good way to get a general idea of what is available. I've generally found that the least busy restrooms in Disneyland tend to be the Hungry Bear ones (already mentioned), the ones near the entrance to the Autopia in Tomorrowland, and the Rancho Del Zocolo/Carnation Gardens restrooms off Main Street.

In DCA, I wouldn't say that there are any restrooms that seem to be substantially more busy than the others. The ones in the back of the Hollywood Pictures Backlot used to be very slow, but that isn't so much the case anymore now that Monsters, Inc. has opened. There are a couple family restrooms in Flik's Fun Fair in DCA. I believe those are the only ones of that type in either park.

Generally, there are changing tables in all the common areas of Downtown Disney as well as in the ones in the Esplanade between the parks and outside the parking structure. The public restrooms in the Disney hotes also pretty much all have changing tables as well. The restrooms inside various restaurants are somewhat hit and miss. The one I know best (because we go there most often) is Catal in Downtown Disney, where there is a family restroom with a changing table, but no changing table in the regular restrooms.

Overall, Disney really is very good about making it extremely convenient to find changing tables when you need them. If you venture off to some of the other local parks (including Knotts or Universal), be prepared that changing tables are much less common, particularly in the Men's rooms.

Anyone use the diaper and wipe packs that are sold in the bathrooms? I think they are $1.00 each.

Thanks

My wife and I usually do it at an out-of-sight corner with the backrest of the stroller seat folded down.

There are some nice family restrooms in A Bug's Life section at DCA. t's nice because I can change the baby and have the bigger boys go potty in an enclosed area where I don't lose anyone.
