Hello -
This is my first thread, so I hope I am doing this right...
We are going to WDW in early February for 7+ days. It will be my husband, 4 year old daughter and 3 month old son (to be born in October.)
Here are my questions:
1 - We have garden reservations at the Contemporary. Is there another hotel that someone would recommend on property with easy park access? (i.e. reliable bus service, etc.)
2 - What is the weather in February. (Being from Colorado I am expecting at least a slight temperature difference for February!)
3 - What rides that we would take our 4 year old on, can a 3 month safely go on? POC is a must as is it our daughter's favorite. She would name her brother Captain Jack Sparrow if we let her!
4 - Are we crazy planning a trip like this with a 3 month old?
thank you!

1 - We have garden reservations at the Contemporary. Is there another hotel that someone would recommend on property with easy park access? (i.e. reliable bus service, etc.) Personallly, I would also consider the Polynesian. It's a tad bit easier to hope on the Epcot monorail over there, from the Ticket and Tansportation Center right next door.
I'm also a big fan of shade with young children, and you will get much more of that over at the Polynesian.
2 - What is the weather in February. (Being from Colorado I am expecting at least a slight temperature difference for February!)
Gorgeous. Still the potential for cool nights, but it can be in the 70's trhoug the 90's. It's not rainy season yet, so fewer pop-up thunderstorms.
3 - What rides that we would take our 4 year old on, can a 3 month safely go on? POC is a must as is it our daughter's favorite. She would name her brother Captain Jack Sparrow if we let her!then get the over there! LOL! I would judge each ride personally as you approach them. If there's a ride you won't take your son on, simply tell the Cast Member when you wish to board that you wish to 'baby swap.' Your spouse gets on the ride with your daredevil daughter, then when tehy debark, you go through again (follow the CM's instructions for reboarding) with your daughter. She gets the great benefit of riding twice. :D
4 - Are we crazy planning a trip like this with a 3 month old?Not at all. Expect a little more attention from the characters, and take things with a little slower pace, and you'll have an amazing vacation to remember. Enjoy!

We took our son at 4 months. He was a 5 week premmie so he was suppose to be 3 months. You can take him on POC and rides like that. I personally did not take Kyle on rides that go around and around. I was concerned he would get dizzy. Feed him frequently. If you are nursing try and nurse him during a show, this way you don't miss out on any fun. Try and take a baby carrier to carry him in during lines. Don't over plan. Above all relax and enjoy. Let me know if you want any more info.

We took my first son at about 5 months and on this next trip in September, he will be about 3.5 and his brother will be 11 months.
You really can go on most of the rides, we spent a lot of time in Fantasyland, more MK stuff than anything else, but AK is also fun. Kids love the parades and the CMs are more inclined to come up to them as well.
The best advice I can give is to use the Baby Centers! There is one in each park and its a great place for the older one to cool down and also feed the younger one. Also, spouses could always split up, each taking one for an hour, one at the Baby Center, the other getting a hot dog or something..

We took DD when she was just shy of 3 months... Her head control was not great so rides made me a bit uncomfortable. We rode SNOW WHITE@ DLR and it was a bit jerky... That was our last. She kinda got the character breakfast... it was June this year and too hot for her to be in the stroller... Carrier would have been better... and I will agree... Baby Center SAVED ME.
Have a great time
