Snow White is my DD's favorite DP. We were thinking of taking her to see Snow White's Enchanted Musical, but were wondering if it might be too scary for a 3 yr old. I have never seen it myself, so I don't know.

View Full Version : Snow White Musical [at Disneyland too scary]? lg3 07-14-2006, 01:41 PM Snow White is my DD's favorite DP. We were thinking of taking her to see Snow White's Enchanted Musical, but were wondering if it might be too scary for a 3 yr old. I have never seen it myself, so I don't know. bradk 07-14-2006, 02:00 PM i really don't think it is at all from what I remember. the attraction and movie are probably scarier. although what's really scary is that someone thought the songs that were written for it were worth performing for an audience (insert foot into mouth). but be aware, the show is closing permanently soon. early sept i believe (date was recently posted elsewhere - aladdin thread? it's also probably in the updates). mulansgirl 07-14-2006, 02:58 PM my niecs is under three and the first time she watched the show she clapped for thr witch and boo-ed Snow White and the dwarves the second time she reversed it being scared of the witch. I prefered her clapping for the witch and boo-ing the princess. it all depends on the child and I guess the timing. acpalmer 07-14-2006, 08:36 PM i really don't think it is at all from what I remember. the attraction and movie are probably scarier. although what's really scary is that someone thought the songs that were written for it were worth performing for an audience (insert foot into mouth). but be aware, the show is closing permanently soon. early sept i believe (date was recently posted elsewhere - aladdin thread? it's also probably in the updates). I would agree--the ride and movie were both scarier than the musical. Our three year old loved it when we were there in June.:) charpaul 07-15-2006, 11:49 AM Bear in mind: - the Queen/witch is a scary character. - There is "thunder" in the show (my niece would have freaked about that alone when she was 3). - the Huntsman is given a dagger to kill Snowwhite with - and comes close before stopping... - Snowwhite "dies" after eating the apple.. It really is nothing that is not in the original movie. Would you show that to your 3 year old?? If the answer is yes then go and enjoy the show. It has some good versions of the classic songs and a couple of good dance numbers. It is not my favorite show - but parts of it are very Magical and very Disney!!! (the cottage it my favorite part:D ) It is worth seeing before it goes away in Sept. It all depends on your three year old. Lost Boy 07-15-2006, 12:26 PM And Patrick Stewart is the voice of the Magic Mirror, which is an incredible effect all on its own. I don't like the dwarves as they are "Face" characters and even thouhg played by real Little People, they just don't look like the movie characters. I liked the Magic Mirror and the Evil Queen the best. If the right lady is playing the Queen, she is terrific. I spent more time watching her reactions to what was going on the stage, than the stage itself. ThemeParkAddictOfOC 07-15-2006, 01:16 PM I think that if you sit in the middle towards the back, she'll be fine. lg3 08-17-2006, 12:42 PM thanks everyone! We ended up running a bit late getting to the theatre, and missed the scariest part in the forest. She was a bit scared still, but then settled right in later. She really liked the confetti at the end, of all things. DH & I agree with you Lost Boy, about the Dwarfs. Overall a good time was had by all. Too bad they are closing it down altogether soon. |
