First Question:
I was just wondering if anybody has put their kids into the oceaneer's club? Our oldest DD will be almost 5 when we go. She's pretty shy initially, but we'd like to sign her up for some of the activities. My question is how does the registration work - do you sign her up for specific activity or just sign her up for drop-off/pick up time? I assume there's limits to the number of kids that can be in there, so we are planning to sign her up for some stuff and if she likes it great, and if she is too nervous at least she gets the opportunity.

Second Question:
Our youngest will be 20months old, and I'm not sure how she'll react to the nursery. We're thinking about putting her in for 2 hours just to go have a little bit of us time. I'm pretty sure she'd cry as we leave, but that she'd be okay after a few minutes. Does anybody know how the staff is with crying kids? specifically are they going to say she can't stay if she starts to cry?

I'm a nervous mom just trying to wrap head around leaving young kids while on vacation!

Once you register your kid, you can put them in there as long or as short a time as you want. Some kids are in there from 7 a.m.-midnight because they don't want to leave. They have many activities going on for different age groups and some that everyone does together. Every parent gets a pager that works anywhere on the ship. If they need to get a hold of you, they can.

Can't really help with question No. 2, but I know the staff is very well trained and the nursery is sooooo cute.

My own experience was with the Club and not Flounder's Reef, but I found the staff to be very compassionate and excellent at diversion with my daughter, who did not want to leave me. They paged me whenever she got out of hand or if they felt she was bothering the other kids, and I would go pick her up. She got checked in and out so many times (she wanted to go, but wouldn't stay) By the last day, she was upset we had to leave and wanted to go back to her counselors and had a hard time leaving them. (yes, she has attachment issues LOL!)

Does anyone know how old an infant needs to be before they'll accept them at Flounder's Reef?

Any age that is allowed on the ship: 12 weeks. :)
