View Full Version : Doing the in-park quests again?

Does anybody know if you can do the in-park quests multiple times? My daughter and I did the Fantasyland, Adventureland & Frontierland quests more than a year ago, and have done several others (50th, Tomorrowland, HS Musical) since.

I keep giving my stuff to kids we know in real life that she plays with, or giving it to her to trade, and was wondering if I could do the quests again.

Thanks for the help!

I beleive the current policy is allowing the in-park quests to be done every 90 days.

Are they still handing out fast passes if you complete all 3 quests at Disneyland?

they were still giving out fast passes last time I went about three weeks ago but I was told you also have to do the tommorow land quest. I also know there was a problem with the 50th quest (they ran out of cards) I am not sure if they fixed it yet but if you already have the quest printed out I hear they take your address and send you the cards or hold them till you come back again.
Make sure to go to the Art of Animation: Animation Acadamy at DCA. they are giving out VMK cards there also, an Artist desk.
Have fun. every 90 days I do. and sometimes I make my family do it too.:D

Mooshu cool name.

Thank you for the information!

Now, another question -- when we turned in one quest (I think it was Tomorrowland), they gave my daughter and I a pack of "special" cards with the golden turnstiles, etc. I never really understood why we got it then, because friends we were with who did the same quests but at different times did not get the pack. I ended up giving mine to the kids who were with us to split. (And now their parents don't let them play VMK anymore -- eek!)

Anyway, do you know if that pack is a one-time thing, or if that is given each time you do whatever it is you have to do to get it? (And was that the most confusing question ever asked? LOL)

Thanks!

I have gotten the pack of ten cards a few times the cards seem to change when they run out of some of the cards. As I understand it after the tour was canceled they started giving the card packs and fast passes for finnishing all the quests, since they no longer rewarded the tour. (makes me sad) so you should get a pack of ten everytime you complete all the quests. but if you did quests at differnt times I am not sure how the timeing works out. but the computer tells them what to give you and when you can come back to get more or finnish a set.
Hope this helps if not I will try again, just ask.

That made me sad too! We had saved our tour tickets for the last day of summer break last year, taken the kids to Disneyland early, hurried to the VMK booth and were the first to sign up for the day's tour. We were soooo excited, because we love doing things that are "different" at Disneyland.

When we showed up for our tour that afternoon, the guides told us the tour had been cancelled for the day. Since it was their last day of vacation, and they'd been looking forward to it all morning, the kids were devastated. Not bratty, mind you; just extremely disappointed; one almost to the point of tears.

The guide actually got annoyed at them, pointing out that it was a free tour. That wasn't much consolation for three little kids, and I was dumbstruck by the attitude -- for him to not realize that he'd just taken away something Disneyland had given them! Ah, well.

Anyway, fast forward to their next break, when we tried again, only to learn that the tour wasn't being given any longer. Ironically, we still have our tickets, which say they're good until Sept 30, 2006. Unfortunately, they're good for nothing! LOL

Thanks for the info -- we'll try the quests again on our next visit and see what happens. Thank you!!

I'm sorry about the tour, it got canceled on me once but they were very nice about it. the tour guide had an emergency and had to go home. But I lived like two hours away so no problem fo me. Sucks it was your last day of vacation. The code on the back is good untill september 30, 2006. The tour was redeemable through Dec, 31 2005. I think it was on week before or one week after that date they stoped the tours and gave out VMK pins, now very rare and very collectable. I missed that one too. But the card in fine print has two dates on it one for the code and one for the tour.

Sometimes the people at the VMK booth are a bit unknowledgable. It is not really their fault but I do kinda wish they would send out people to man the booth that really know what they are talking about. I hear a few contradicting bits of information given by them, but as far as they know it is the truth. And any info on future events don't ask them, they only seem to know about quests and cards and stuff when they are actually happening, no previews with them.

Yup. We went to the park yesterday, and re-did the Fantasyland, Adventureland and Frontierland quests as well as the Tomorrowland and 50th quests. The only one we couldn't do again was the High School Musical quest, for which the 90 days had not yet passed.

We received a ton of cards (haven't even had a chance to look at them) and were offered fast passes. We needed to leave, so they told us we could get the fast passes on our next visit. That was a nice surprise.

Incidentally, the quests have changed since we last did them (more than a year ago), and some of the new questions were REALLY hard! But we had a great time!

Thanks, everyone, for the help!

My question is has any of you felt funny doing quests and not being 12 years old? I'm going to be 20 and I play vmk because the games keep me occupied when I'm bored and I want to do the quests to do something different this vacation. I just feel like when I go to VMK central they are going to look at me like I have 8 heads becaues of my age.

Absolutely not!! I've had conversations with many adults at DL who play and do the quests. Some have kids; some don't. I had a very nice conversation yesterday with a CM who plays, saw us with the quests, and asked my daughter and I questions. He was a young man; probably early 20s.

The quests are fun and great for anyone who loves Disney. They take some work! Nothing at all to be embarrassed about. If you watch the VMK booth for a little while, you'll see that the quests are for everybody.

Go with confidence, and have fun!

Why did they get rid of the tour? I had a lot of fun with it.

Did they change a lot Tinkermommy? We did them our last trip there in November and it took us a long time but that was o.k. because it was a 4 day trip. We kept the answers.

My husband and I are going without the kids for a wedding in Garden Grove. We will only be there one day and we were hoping to get new vmk cards to suprise our boys (we like to play too:) ) but maybe not if it's going to take up most of the day.

Did they change a lot Tinkermommy? ...not if it's going to take up most of the day.

No, most of the questions are the same. (We brought our old ones for comparison -- figured why reinvent the wheel?)

On some, they added an extra option to the answers, but the original answer is still correct. The original Fantasyland quest had a question about the arch near Casey Junior and gave potential answers that didn't make sense. That one was VERY frustrating originally, and I'll never forget standing there with a group of strangers discussing what could be correct, because none of the answer choices given worked. They fixed that, so now it's obvious. (Yay!)

The ones we had the most trouble with this time were Adventureland; question 6 about the bird on the upper level of the Jungle Cruise line. When we did it before, they would take one of two answers, so we were good. This time, they had that section closed, so we couldn't even see the bird. A CM took us to where we could see it from a distance, and, not being bird experts, we still didn't know what kind of bird it was. He finally took pity on us and told us what the answer was. (Let me know if you want it.) There may be a sign on the bird, but we couldn't get to it. Yeesh.

They've changed the choices on Frontierland #1 (the jewels on the Golden Horseshoe; but it's easy to figure out.) We had a LOT of trouble with #4 and #6, which are new. Both were very hard to find, and I grew so tired of searching and re-searching that I almost gave up. Only my daughter's "Please, Mommy?" face kept me going...LOL

Lastly, I couldn't find our old Tomorrowland quest, so we had to do that one from scratch. (That's one that you have to print at home.) It's only changed a little bit; like you don't count the little green men in Star Trader anymore; just the neon Mickeys and the rockets. But we had a heck of a time finding a Tomorrowland poster to determine which of the listed rides wasn't on it, and finally just guessed -- correctly, as luck would have it.

Be sure to print out the 50th quest and the High School Musical quest as well before you go. They're all on the VMK website. High School Musical requires that you watch the movie for half of it. (Not a problem here; my little one is addicted to it and watched it twice just yesterday.) But you get a HS Musical gym and piano if you get it correct. Very kewl.

Let me know if you want any hints, so you can spend your day having fun instead of going crazy, like we did...LOL.

Thanks Tinkermommy, any hints or answers would be awesome! We are going with my bro and Sis in law who haven't been to Disneyland in years, so we were hoping to spend most our time with them. But we are huge vmk fans and our boys would be so excited if we brought some cards or codes home! If you want to post it or pm that would be awesome! Thanks a lot!:)

if you sign up at vmkforums.com and then sign up for the secrets of vmk you can get all the answers to in-park quests. I plan on printing them up before I go just in case I can't answer them all. It takes the fun out of it but since you will only be there for a day and want them for your boys then I say sign up to get it.
