How busy will Sea World San Diego be the last Friday in July?
I will be going alone, just wondering if I should consider going or just shop while DH is working.

You should go, if its just you, it won't be bad.

Compared to Disney, Sea World is never really that crowded. There are plenty of places to go hide and do things where there are no crowds (the aquariums for example). It will be a lot less crowded on a Friday than Saturday. I agree, just go.

i went to sea world last may. not sure of the day of week. the crowds weren't so bad, except for the small aquariums. i tried going into one later in the day and it was impossible. they're just too small and antiquated to handle large amounts of traffic.

i saw half a stonefish and had to leave.

the rest of the day was pretty good as i recall, although i spent a good portion of it on tours.

We went last night, got there around 5:30 the crowds were fairly light. Starting the evening with a ride on Journey to Atlantis, waited about 15 monutes, when we got off the ride the line was 45 minutes. Caught the last Cirque de la Mer, had dinner at Shipwreck Reef with a very minimal line, saw the Sea Lions tonight in a full stadium, we arrived about 15 minutes early, and also we were able to watch Shamu's house of Douse and the fireworks in a full stadium. We arrived at Shamu about 25 minutes before showtime. The family sitting next to us had been there all day and said the lines for the rides and the crowds had been much better than they had anticipated.

Now, will I feel TOTALLY guilty going there without my kids? LOL

You really should go, have a nice relaxing time, check out the aquariums, ride the tower and the skyride, enjoy the flowers, and if you feel like it take in the shows.

Hi there. I was at Seaworld on Monday the 17th and it was great! No lines really except for the Atlantis Ride. I was with a group of about 20 family members and we did a lot in 1 day! Have fun :)

I was there last Friday, and it was OK (though we got there at opening and left by noon.) We saw all of the exhibits we wanted to in the AM, saw the Shamu show at 11, and then left.

The first shows aren't until about 10:45, park opens at 9am. If you go then, it will be super empty, and you can really enjoy the exhibits and any rides (DH did the Atlantis ride first thing.)

Thanks for the tip. I am still debating about whether or not to go. I guess I will decide after DH heads out on his flight Friday and I am in the hotel with nothing to do. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get to the park at opening, I think he flies out at 11:30, but I could be there shortly after he leaves the hotel.

You should be fine friday, even if you have to get there a bit later, being on your own you can cruise around at your leisure.

We're going this friday (just the grownup girls ) and won't be arriving until around 5:30 (after work). I have found for an afternoon or evening excursion, if you want to ride Shipwreck rapids or journey to atlantis try to do it during the shamu show.

If you decide to go and want to try and meet up, feel free to PM me.

If you go feed the bat rays. I kept chickening out eveytime one swam up to my hand and droped the fish but I did pet the backs of a few they feel so cool. My husband fed them out of his hand and said it was kinda like a vacume, I had nothing to be scared about but I was. neat experiance if you go and I do think you should.
