I found A map of the Universal Studios Park today and even though I have not been there in years but based on the map it seems like it is the least interesting park in the area. here is why I think that. The park has four rides Backdraft,The Mummy ride,Back to the Future ride,Jurasic Park water ride. The only rides that I have heard great things about are the Mummy and jurasic park Ride.It has Two three Deminsional type movies shows, A Terminator and a Shrek one. Three live acton shows The Blues Brothers music review show and a Waterworlrd stunt show and the Fear Factor show. The studio tour is pushed on the map, it has a stunt show within the tour. It also has a walkthrough type maze based on the Van Helsing movie that looks fun.

In any other place that might be enough but here it seems a little lacking. Magic Mountain has Universal Beat(and most every park in the area) for the sheer number of thrill rides and rollercaosters in their park. Knotts Has more rides than Universal does, and from what I have heard a more ambiance than Universal does(though it has less live shows and no Three D shows at all, then again I do not go to Knotts for Three D shows). Disneyland and California Adventure Have Universal Beat on the live show, three D show, and on the number of rides areas.

I am only basing my comments on a map of the park, so I might be missing certain inatgables about the park. If I was actuly there I might be won over by the park. But overall based on the map it does not seemed that impresive.

I don't think it's accurate to call Universal a theme park; it is a movie studio that gives tours and has some theme park attractions, whereas the one in Florida was actually designed and built as a theme park. Up until the last 20 years, there was nothing beyond the tour and some shows. No one would ever intentionally build a theme park on the side of that hill.

Waterworld (never had any interest in the film) is a hugely impressive show. The 2 3D films are as good, if not better, than any of the one's produced by Disney (and I've never seen, nor do I have any interest, in the Terminator films). I haven't been to USH in a few years, but thought Mummy and Spiderman were the best theme park attractions anywhere in Orlando. Neither JP nor BTTF lived up to my expectations, although JP gets a little better at night. However, I have seen many people and guide books absolutely rave about BTTF. Backdraft was about what I expected. There are also special effects and animal shows.

Although I don't feel it has the repeatability of the Disney or Florida parks, it certainly has enough for the day. And remember that although there aren't a lot of attractions, they tend to mostly be E Ticket quality. And if you're specifically interested in film making and the possibility of seeing it happen, it can't be beaten.

Cheers.
