I was thinking there are many of you out there that visit Legoland regularly. Do you the "guest" have any suggestions or comments on things that you would like to see improved on, added, or removed from Legoland.

This thread is an unofficial suggestion thread. I don't have any weight or authority in implementing anything. Just be aware that park administration DO read these posts and any suggestions or comments will be read and possibly considered. Anyone have anything on your mind?

After today, seeing Treasure Falls, its needs to be removed or plussed!!!!!!

I am impressed with the rest of the park.

My girlfriend was a bit disappointed with the change in the smoking policy, it changed just a few weeks ago (now the total park is Non-Smoking) and was treated rudely after going over to a quiet corner and approached by a MC (Employee aka Model Citizen) and was told she is not allowed to smoke, and she responded with, well, when did the rules change, I was allowed to smoke here a few weeks ago.....

I think one or two small smoking sections in the far end of the park would be a nice compromise.....

I'm sorry to hear that. Rudeness is never an excuse.

I was not aware the policy had changed. I just checked the website and the policy has been changed to the following:

"In line with our family-friendly values and top priority for the safety of children, LEGOLAND California is a smoke-free park and smoking is therefore prohibited within the park. Guests wishing to smoke may exit the Park gates to do so. A designated smoking section is available outside of the Park for those guests that choose to smoke." - Legoland.com

I'm sorry for the inconvience this caused you guys. As a MC at Legoland I would hope that all MC's would exhibit the same level of guest service that I would, but alas that is not always the case.

I'd love it if they fixed the drag racing cars in Miniland. I have never seen all 4 cars running correctly in my 10+ trips over 2 years.

Don't take this the wrong way please ... Perhaps if some more mature and experienced MCs worked the microphones on the boats on the Coast Cruise, the narrative would be clearer and more enjoyable. A delivery that was clear and showed some interest would really make that a better attraction, in my opinion. Many times, they start the spiel after the point of interest has passed or they just mumble it. I have been on one or two great cruises, so I know that it can be done.

BTW, I loved Brick-or-Treat, so did my kids. We were really disappointed with the storm on New Year's Eve. It looked like it would have been a fun party, but we gave up at about 3:30 pm when we saw Noah pull up with his ark.

Hmm, more tent sales! When is the next one? I had a LEGO themed birthday party for my son. We got all of the party favors there. I got the party supplies at the Big Store. The kids loved it.

I like the new non-smoking policy. The problem for us was that many people aren't as courteous as Darkbeer's GF and walked up and down the walkways smoking. Somehow, we managed to get behind the smokers a lot.

We love the MC who played the Court Jester in October and sometimes plays/played the Chief in the Big Test Show (male, dark hair, maybe 40 years?) We didn't see him the last couple of trips to LL? He is always so enthusiastic and fun.

That's all for now. ;)

My biggest suggestion -- fire everybody currently working at the guest service window, especially the supervisor, Sharon who is always extremely rude and short to everybody I have seen her deal with.

I need to add a side note that there is one GREAT person working at the guest service window, but due to the birth of a bouncing baby girl she has not been there for the last few months (Congrats Rebecca!!)

I am in the process of writing a long letter to Jolene, so I am not going to get into it here. But ya, the guest service area needs a major overhaul. The funny thing is, I have never gone to guest service to complain about anything, but am still treated badly.

My other complaint is upkeep of the park. I would like to see the new management fix things when they break (IE the race cars in Miniland Florida). Or clean things like when I go on the Storybrook ride and see thousands of huge cobwebs that cover everything throughout the ride. If they do that… AND BRING BACK PRINTED COMMEMORATIVE BRICKS – then I will be happy.

If Treasure Falls is the new flume ride I didn't think it had opened yet. It was closed today. What does "plussed" mean?

The park should be all nonsmoking, as should DL. I say should because today there were of course people smoking--my suggestion is I'd like to see the policy enforced and maybe some signage put up. I'd also like to see the policy of most areas nonsmoking in DL enforced also.

Having been absent from Legoland for a couple of years...it was kind of a shock to visit again this past April. Most visible was the lack of upkeep we were used to and the 'well used' look seemed to be 'in'. Little details not working here and there and I'd say the biggest put off was all the new things you can do...for extra money. It all felt kind of cheezy when before it was our 2nd favorite park and a 'home' park. We'll be back one more time as I have comps but that will be it sad to say for us.

Maybe if we hadn't put so much time between visits it wouldn't have been glaring or maybe we were between major fixups...but that feeling of money grubbing seemed real enough....I won't comment on the level of MC's we ran into...all parks are going through that.

Legoland sold and they need some DL lessons say's I.

For the last 3 1/2 years we have been going an average 5 to 6 times a year (we are passholders). I feel the park is in very good shape. We have seen the addition of rides and attractions. The only things that cost extra money is the silly water balloon fight area (good about once a year) and the minature golf area ($3 for a member and again only needed to do once a year).

The other attractions in the last two years are free--the Fire Truck race, Dinosaurus, Splash Battle, Knight's Tourament (only good if you're over 55"), the new Water Park and the flume ride if they can get it open. Also Bionancle is fairly new and I think turns faster than the tea cups at DL. In addition they've just added a new show in the
4-D theater--though, IMHO, not as good as the race movie.

I rate the employees just as good as DL except for this summer they seem to have hired a number of people who don't understand english too well to work behind some of the counters. Also, service was a little confused at Pizza Mania and it's often slow at both hamburger places--but it always has been.

On Saturday we were greeted at a number of the shops by friendly employees who wanted to make sure we understood things--such as how it works to buy bricks by the pound.

I don't see major upkeep areas--little things like some of the figures not moving in Miniland or some of the figures have been knocked down or water-calcium stained. Not easy to keep up with the thousands of items in the area, yet 90% plus of the mechanical there are working.

Can you please give some examples of things not working? I truly can't think of more than 3 minor non-Miniland items.

Everything is painted--For example: many waiting areas have metal posts with a colored ball on top of it. The paint wears out fast to bare metal, but most were painted--if not a little hastily.

I feel we get more than our money's worth from Legoland as members. Paying full price for a one day visit is another matter--but there are many discounts available. No one should be paying full boat. I think at the least they give AAA discounts.

And last when we go on Sunday mornings, when they first open up, my 8 year old daughterand I pretty much get the feeling our being in our own private amusement park--low key, very nicely landscaped (I don't thing anyone can deny that) and just very pleasant.

I'm sure we will treasure these experiences for years to come.

Hire a new act for their "kids show" instead of "Kevin Johnson's Comedy for Kids" (BTW, did you see him on "America's Got Talent" TV show?). We went once and had a couple of laughs, but a lot of the comedy went over my children's heads. We've never been back to watch it.

Since the show's been there for awhile, perhaps they can hire an act geared more towards the target age (3-13) that would be entertaining for parents too. An educational song and dance group, maybe? I'm thinking something like "Hi-5", "Johnny and the Sprites", "The Laurie Berkner Band" or "The Justin Roberts Band" that would get the children to participate in singing and dancing. Perhaps they could do something like "Aladdin and Jasmine Storytime" they had in DL's Adventureland but with Lego characters or some of the characters Lego has a license with (i.e., Thomas the Tank Engine, Dora, Star Wars). Heck, I'd even go for a "Barney-like" performance with Lego characters as long as the kids enjoyed it. There's nothing more trying than sitting in a theater trying to keep your child engaged in the performance when it's boring them to tears.

I noticed a couple of weeks ago there was a "guest magician." Don't remember his name.

My daughter and I do magic together. It violates the magician's code to explain this trick.

It's probably because Kevin Johnson was doing that "America's Got Talent" TV show. We were there last Saturday and his name was still on the marquee.
