I will be at Universal Studios Hollywood some time between october 14-19th. When do the halloween celebrations begin? When can you buy tickets? How much? Is it worth it, even if you don't want to dress up? Best way to get there?

If it's anything like the USFlorida ones it is the best you'll ever attend. They are awesome! In an interview I read shortly after last years the creative director said that they have a team of people that spend the whole year planning, designing costuming, etc. just for the Halloween Horror Nights. Apparently it accounts for 20% of the entire year revenue in a single month so they have to do it right.
I'd google the Hollywood one to see what the plans are there.
Florida SUCKS its all about hollywood.......we have the best horror nights

this is all i could find on it:
The ALL NEW Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood starts on Friday the 13th of October and continues on weekends throughout the 31st!
I couldn't find anything on their website.

After a several-year absence, Halloween Horror Nights are indeed returning to Universal Studios-Hollywood this year. Dates are 10/13, 14, 20, 21, 27,
28, 31. Tickets will be $49 on each the night of the event, $34 to $39
(depending on the night) if purchased in advance. Should be interesting to see how quickly USH can put the event together, since park management just learned about a week ago that NBC Universal wanted to resurrect the show -- and considering that after the show was discontinued a few years ago, all the mazes, costumes, etc., were given to Universal Studios-Florida!

darn it! Universal and Disney all have their halloween parties on days I can't go!!! We're arriving at night on October 14 (so we COULD go but it would be hard) and leaving on Oct 19th! why can't they stagger the parties?? Why don't they have them in between these dates! It sucks!

actually halloween horror nights has been in development for some time now. and given that it was announced around july 4 that it was happening, i think that counts as more than a week ago. theme parks just dont throw giant events like this together last minute.

Someone clearly shouldn't be allowed on their parent's computer.

I assure you, they've known they would be doing HHN for quite some time. Theme parks do not operate on a whim. Even the teaser site has been up longer than a week. As for USH giving entire mazes to UO... the two events never shared any mazes. How is that even possible? These are temporary structures were talking about here. They aren't going to bother shipping this stuff across country. UO doesn't even need props from USH. UO has it's own large library of props it's used over the past 15 years for HHN.
