I heard from a friend that the Fast and the Furious addition to the tram tour opened today. Does anyone have any photos or videos of the new addition?

I saw that one video on another website of it during technical rehearsals, but I'm wondering if anything had changed since then (I hope so!)

Thanks!

I was waiting for implementation of the WHOOPIE GOLDBERG version of the tram tour, and the FAST AND FURIOUS segment to be added to the tram tour, before going a second time this year to USH.

I guess I will put USH high on my list of things to do.

In a few days, I think I should be able to post something.

Did they add anything to the JURASSIC PARK ride? A new squirting dinosaur? An improvement over the T. Rex lunge?

They had some things "down" the first week of June. I was wondering when USH would gear up for the summer rush.

I would love to see pictures or a video of this too.

I was there last Saturday (6-10) and they were running both the new Fast and Furious attraction and the video on the tour now has Whoopie Goldberg in lieu of Ron Howard. For the Fast and the Furious the tram pulls into kind of an open set and two cars do a short race. It has the typical pyro that Universal puts on just about everything. I wasn't very impressed, but the tour guide didn't say much during the short show, its possible that with a good narration it might have improved the show.

On the other hand I was pleasantly surprised and did like the new Whoopie clips in the tour, and that's saying a lot since I'm not much of a Whoopie fan. She has quite a bit more face time than Ron Howard did.

Sorry, didn't get any pictures.

That looks very strange. If it is a race then why are the cars moving around in the air like that? What did you think of it in person?

Both Lisa and I liked it. Remember what it replaced, the non-working Dante's Peak miniature, which wasn't that good when it worked.

It is a good two minute experience, we preferred the second half, when the cars dance to the music. We think it is a good addition to the tour. It isn't as good as Earthquake, Jaws, or King Kong, but better than the Mummy tunnel.

The scene is really not a race, the pre-event is the Movie cars located outside the Stage. Then when the system is ready, the door to Stage 55 opens and the tram drives into the circular area, which gives all 4 cars a good view of the show. When the tram is parked, the show starts with faux gunfire, then the two VW (a park sponsor) cars come at you quickly, using the Robocoaster arms. Then they say "Cut", as if you just watched a special effects scene. Then the cars are introduced "Carmen" and "Carnage", and they then dance around to music, which is fun to watch.

Looking forward to seeing it again.

Thanks for explaining that. I didn't really understand what was going on before.

I think they should have one of those at USO too!
