Why would anyone want to work for this guy? I understand he's a great chef (allegedly), but to me he comes across as a pompous, arrogant &^$%. As a matter of fact, if any of my bosses would have talked to me in the same manner, we would have had another discussion outside, prior to me leaving.

Every other word is an F-bomb! It's a little too much. I like the concept and the competition but the constant hostility started to grate on me.

The woman who burned her hand had guts! I think her performance last night earned her major points with Gordon.

Love the show, love the concept. Yeah, the constant swearing is a bit much, however the restaurant biz is pretty demanding from what I've read. Many restaurants are like medieval fiefdoms.

So if one of the contestants can't take being abused by customers or the head chef, then they are the wrong person to take over a million-dollar restaurant in a high profile location.

I may not enjoy Ramsay's constant belittlement of the contestants, but he's running a boot camp and he must weed out those who cannot handle the pressure.

However, why oh why did these contestants not learn how to make a proper signature dish (plus the usual risotto) correctly before coming on the show? They had last season's episodes to review. I know I would've had all the skills on last season's shows under my belt if I were to be a contestant on Season 2.

Heather is definitely a front runner to win. As long as she doesn't crack under pressure, her edit seems to indicate she's in it for the long haul.

I agree about Heather. I hope she sticks around.

Hooray! Tom is gone! What a lousy cook.

Now we need to get rid of Sara...

Which one is Sara? The one who fell down getting ice (that she didn't have money for) or the one messing around when they were cleaning up?

(I half-watched most of the episode - so maybe it is someone else who was doing not-so-great things when I wasn't paying attention)

Now we need to get rid of Sara...I'm glad Tom is gone - what a bad attitude. If Sara is the one that set up the other one to look bad in front of Gordon - Yes! Get rid of her! :)

ok.. Although what Sara did was funnier then heck.. she really needs to go.. you shouldn't do that to somebody who gets as torqued as Gordon does.

I still don't know who I want to win yet.. and Tivo says no new episode on Monday..

Yes, I was very happy to see Tom go. He kept talking about how he had heart and really wanted to be a cook, but you could tell that he really didn't.

I really hope Sara is the next to go. She's a conniving back-stabber and needs to go - not a team player.

Is it me or was there not a new episode this week. I have TIVO but did not see it on my recorded list.

Also, if you guys like Hell's Kitchen, you should check out Kitchen Nightmares w/ Gordon Ramsay on BBC America. It's a great show w/ Gordon a bit more subdued. It's basically a British Restaurant Makeover w/ more cursing... :D

Looking forward to it! I have seen Gordon's other show. It was very interesting. Does it have a regular time slot on BBC America?

Have to admit that I'm bummed backstabber Sara didn't get the boot, but Rachel just couldn't pull it together.

I hope blue are able to work better as a unit next week. They were all over the place last night.

Arg! How did Sara survive? Damn it!

Woohoo for the Blue Team totally demolishing service last night! Heather's right - now the claws come out!

I only think she survived because Maribelle was clearly not a leader - she was definitely being a follower and not stepping up to the plate in this challenge, and in the episodes I've seen, she totally faded into the woodwork (except for the hair thing)-- not something you need from a chef running a new restaurant.

And yes, for sure - the claws were coming out!
I also think the 'punishment' was unfair in the middle of the dinner service - yes they were able to overcome it, but would it have happened if the other team hadn't been so far behind?

Looks like next week they're all working together -- it'll be interesting to see if Sara or Virginia (?) overcome their animosity towards each other and are able to work with the other 3.

I thought the punishment was awesome and also showed just how strong the blue team has become. Things like that happen in a restaurant and they showed they could deal with it and still get the job done. I remember working in a restaurant one day when my boss (the owner/chef) was stuck in some freak traffic behind an accident and could not get there by opening (this, in itself, was extremely unusual.) We opened the restaurant on time, as instructed, and kept service going as usual. We slowed down the pace a little to compensate. So, right in the middle of all that hassle, the fire inspector shows up - - and I have no idea where our fire equipment is (although I faked it and we passed.)

Stuff just happens like weird deliveries and stuff.

I just kept wondering what was happening to the stuff they were cooking while they were unloading the truck. I would have left one person behind to mind the kitchen.

Do producers get to have a role in the decisions like on Project Runway? I felt kind of like Mirabelle was booted because she wasn't providing the show with any personality.

Also, I haven't paid enough attention. What role will the winner have at the restaurant? Does what they're doing actually show any ability beyond being a sous chef at best? Are they really going to be made the executive chef of a major resort hotel or will it be more just a managing chef running the kitchen every night but just doing what they're told?

I don't know.. I HATE Sara.. but Maribell had to go.. Part of me was hoping he would pull a Donald and just eliminate all 3... its gonna be the girl (heather?) and Keith from the blue team in the finally...
