I checked my e-mail yesterday too, but I am not sure when they actually "send" out the notification. I didn't win either, but I am still going to look today when I get home. Never know.... :-)

It says in the sweepstake rules that they are going to try to contact the winner 3 or 4 times. If they don’t reply, then they are going to move on the next lucky person. So we still have a chance!

I just found out that at the bottom of the rules in very small print, it says that the winner has to send in a self addressed envelope to recieve their prize package. I bet you not many people saw that. :~D

Al Lutz over at MiceAge stated that the two main lower level prizes will be a special set of Mickey Dream Ears, and a Pin Lanyard that comes with two special pins. Expect to see many of those being handed out.
While the official rules will not be released until October 1st, when we will have a full list of the prizes, and the amount of each available, here are prizes that have been mentioned in the Press Releases and media reports.... (all from earlier posts in this thread)....
The "impossible" includes the creation of over-the-top, overnight experiences for winning guests at both East and West Coast resorts: a royal bedchamber inside Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World Resort and a Mickey Mouse Penthouse at Disneyland Resort, both expected to be complete by January 2007.
A day of royal treatment will end with a night of enchantment inside Cinderella Castle for a different lucky guest each night. Cinderella's royal bedchamber, now under construction at Magic Kingdom, will allow Disney guests to stay overnight inside the park and enjoy a view shared only by Tinker Bell. The lavishly decorated bedroom will be located in a space originally planned as an in-park apartment for the use of the Disney family.
And for a lucky Disneyland guest, each night, the all-new Mickey Mouse Penthouse at Disneyland Hotel will pour on the Mickey charm and include magical views overlooking both Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure parks. The extraordinary penthouse will be decorated in all things Mickey, with finishing touches by none other than Minnie Mouse herself.
In addition, during the year-long celebration, other Disney dreams both large and small will be awarded in the "Disney Dreams Giveaway" promotion, such as:
* Traveling to each Disney resort around the world to serve as grand marshal in a Disney parade. * A variety of unique Disney vacation experiences. * Admission to special parties and other extraordinary experiences in the Disneyland and Walt Disney World parks. * Private meetings with favorite Disney characters. * Or, a Golden FASTPASS ticket with unique access entitlements to some of Disney's most popular attractions.
The prizes, which will be awarded to visitors chosen statistically by a third-party company, will include free dinners, Fast Passes that get people to the front of some lines and a lifetime of Disney vacations. Guests may also be named grand marshals of parades or given access to the exclusive, members-only Club 33 at Disneyland.

I posted this info in a WDW thread talking about the giveaway, but it should also be here....
So we have The 15 months of 1.25 Million Dreams
Some things that caught my eye.
Disney is being nice with the big prizes, such as the trips, and will give the winner a set amount of cash that should cover most of the taxes ht need to be paid due to winning.
With prizes in groups of 3, it looks like they want to give 1 away at DLR, and 2 at WDW, making sure that Disneyland visitors get a chance at the big prizes.
The No Purchase Necessary option is a mail in Postcard (one per person per day), and prizes for in-park will be substituted for (the example they use, the Dream FASTPASS will be turned into the Pin and Lanyard, the Dream Mouse Ears or a merchandise gift basket).
But at the odds at about 1 in 60 to win, you are looking at spending $14.40 (24 cent USPS standard Postcard) to win one prize, and the average prize value is $13.92 (the total value of all prizes is $17,412,477 and divide that by the 1,250,000 prizes), so it might be worth it to go with the mail-in entry.
Another thing that caught my eye, the Dream FASTPASSes are only good for a single person, but it looks like they will hand them out in batches (for example, starting at 11:37 AM, the next 100 people boarding Splash Mountain will get the Dream FASTPASS, this will allow folks who are together a chance to use them as a group.
Also, the prizes are to be given out between opening and 5 PM, so that only one shift of Dream Makers is needed.
Also, you can win just by going to Downtown Disney

Looking at the Disneyland prizes, over 99% of the prizes are these 4 times....
37% - 156,300 Disneyland® Park and Disney's California Adventure® Park DREAM FASTPASS Badges ARV, $5
33% - 140,000 Pin and Lanyard Sets ARV, $23
19% - 80,000 Dream Mouse Ears ARV, $12
12% - 50,000 Where Dreams Come True Photo Vouchers for one 5"x7" photo ARV, $12.95
(Rounding makes the percentages off).
Or looking at it another way...
On average, on a daily basis the following should be handed out at Disneyland...
342 Dream FASTPASS Lanyards
307 Pin and Lanyard Sets
175 Dream Mouse Ears
110 Photo Vouchers
Though based on the reading of the rules, they will hand out prizes based on attendance, so some days will have less than others. The rules state that a minimum of 1,551 prizes will be rewarded daily, and on average 2,741 prizes will be handed out daily (456 days, 1,250,000 prizes).
Anyways, I am not sure a Dream FASTPASS will do much good on many slow days. For example, today (Sunday), there are only 5 Disneyland attractions offering FP's, and just 2 FP attractions at DCA (Based on the TIMES Guide that lists which FP's are open and closed, many attractions only offer FP's on peak days). And the rules state the Dream FASTPASS only works once per attraction (no repeat visits to the same attraction).
Of course, you could always use your ticket to get a "real" FASTPASS to go a second time.

A better indication of the prize split, if you look at the amount of Dream FASTPASSes handed out, WDW has 345,035, and the DLR has 156,300.
So that makes Anaheim equal to about 31.12% of the attendance at the US Disney Parks, and WDW 68.88%, which is about equal to splitting the major prizes into thirds.

Here is a breakdown of the Walt Disney World percentages of the main prizes (I am combining similar prizes). This covers over 99% of the prizes, there are less than 1,000 of the remaining mid to high level of prizes to be handed out.
42% - 345,035 Assorted WDW Parks DREAM FASTPASS Badges ARV, $5
34% - 278,789 Pin and Lanyard Sets ARV, $23
21% - 170,000 Dream Mouse Ears ARV, $12
3% - 28,600 Special Park After Hour event, ARV around $4 to $5 (depending on park)
(Rounding makes the percentages off).

Here is one more breakdown, one that looks at the value of the prizes, I am going to list the prizes as either High Value, Mid Value or Low Value
High Value (Worth more than $5,000)
60 prizes, or .0048% of the prize pool (Approximately one in every 1.25 million guests (or mail in postcards) will win a high level prize)
Mid Value (Worth between $160 and $587)
1186 prizes, or .095% of the prize pool (Approximately one in every 63,238 guests (or mail in postcards) will win a mid level prize)
Low Value (Worth less than $25)
1,248,754 prizes, or 99.9% of the prize pool (Approximately one in every 60 guests (or mail in postcards) will win a low level prize)
Note the the 1 in 60 (or other number) is based on one guest visiting the park for one day, or for one postcard mailed in, if you visit the parks (or Downtown Disney more often) and/or send in more postcards, your odds will improve.
For example, let's use me as an example, I plan to send in a postcard each postal day, which will equal 457 visits to the park (as the will take the prior 6 days of postcards for the Sunday and Postal Holiday draws), then add in about 143 visits to the parks during the contest hours (being in the park prior to 5 PM; the earlier you get to the park, the better chance you have to win).
So even with spending around $120 in postage and labels, plus the costs of going to the park (most of which I already planned for, as I go to the parks to take photos, etc...) here are my odds.... 1 in 2,084 of winning a High level prize, 1 in 105 of winning a Mid level prize, and I should win about 10 Low level Prizes. So that is about as good as you can get.
And lets look at an average AP holder that visits once a week (65 visits in the 15 month period) and doesn't mail in any postcards... 1 in 19,231 of winning a High level prize, 1 in 973 of winning a Mid level Prize and should win one Low level Prize.
Now, let's look at someone who comes on vacation, and buys a 5 day ParkHopper..... 1 in 250,000 of winning a High level prize, 1 in 12,648 of winning a Mid level prize, and 1 in 12 of winning a Low level Prize.
Let's take that Vacationing family, and presume it is a family of 4, the odds of someone in the family winning are 1 in 62,500 of a High level prize, 1 in 3,162 of a Mid level prize and 1 in 3 of winning a Low level prize.
And finally, someone who opts to mail in the postcard on a daily basis... 1 in 2,735 of winning a High level prize, 1 in 139 of winning a Mid level prize and should win 7 or 8 Low level Prizes (Calculations are 7.6 prizes).
This is based on attendance figures of those in the parks and Downtown Disney (Anaheim and Orlando) from Opening to 5 PM, and the amount of Mail In Postcards equalling 75 million during the 15 month contest period. (Which is based on prior attendance figures released by Amusement Business and Economic Research Associates).

QuikQuote: "Completely random. Completely unbiased. Completely luck of the draw," Potrock said. "What we created was a mathematical model, a randomizer, that will select the different dream giveaways each and every day.
"It gets into detail like, it'll be the fourth person to walk through the exit of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at 3:01 p.m.," he said, describing a hypothetical selection. "And we've even gone so far as to say, if two people are walking through the doorway at the same time, it's the person on the left."
Winners will be split between those visitors who show up on Disney properties, and those who send in postcard entries.

here is the breakdown of the prizes and their value
High Value (Worth more than $5,000)
60 prizes, or .0048% of the prize pool (Approximately one in every 1.25 million guests (or mail in postcards) will win a high level prize) Total ARV, $914,233
Mid Value (Worth between $160 and $587)
1186 prizes, or .095% of the prize pool (Approximately one in every 63,238 guests (or mail in postcards) will win a mid level prize) Total ARV, $509,375
Low Value (Worth less than $25)
1,248,754 prizes, or 99.9% of the prize pool (Approximately one in every 60 guests (or mail in postcards) will win a low level prize) Total ARV, $15,988,869
So you have $16 million worth of Dream FASTPASSes, After Hour events, Mouse Ears, Pin Lanyards and photos, and $1.4 million of the better prizes.

Wow, those are some killer prizes...trips around the world? Disney's got it going on. People are complaining about the prizes and I bet they havn't even seen that list.
