This may be a dumb question--but I'm confused and don't get it. How exactly do you win prizes?? Do you HAVE to be actually AT Walk Disney World (or land) as a regular vacationing visitor in order to win a prize? Or do people that are just sitting at home wishing they could go win something? How does it work? And if you have to already be at the park--well--isn't that just making your dream come true...more? Hmmm.

To win the park to yourself and the sleepover at the castle you can sit from home all you do is register at mydisneyparks.com, for the random dreams you can get granted you would have to be at a US park and then a CM randomly picks a guest and grants their dream. I think just being at the park is a dream too. I'm going in Jan. Yeah!!!!:D

Thanks for replying! Is that the only prize that is awarded outside of the parks? or are there others? I read about one prize which is where one family gets to go to all the disney parks around the world--I wonder if you can win that outside of the parks, too?
Do you know how long this promotion lasts? I would like to go maybe Sept. 2007--will it still be going on at the time? Thanks!

The celebration is suppose start on October 1, and last until October of next year (2007). So a trip in September 2007 should be fine.
As far as the prizes are concerned, from what i understand, by registering on the web site, make you eligible for the grand prize, which is a 4 day trip to Disneyworld, as well as having sections of the part open to yourself. For other prizes, i believe, are just handed out randomly by cast members at the park.
goodluck!!!

As I understand when you register you just qualify for the 4 day 3 night stay, the terms and conditions are on the mydisneyparks.com site. As for the castle sleepover I think that would have to just be your dream if asked. I heard they are refurnishing the castle for future hotel accomedations but I'm not sure when it will be done.

The "dream thing" is a new promotion that Disney doing. Go to mydisneyparks.com for all the details. Basically, by registering on that site makes you eligible to win the grand prize, which is a 4 day 3 night all expense paid vacation to Walt Disney World. In addition to that, one of the days, the winner gets the park all to themselves. As far as the million dreams are concerned, cast members randomly pick guests at the parks and ask them what their Disney dream is. If their dream is feasible, then their wish is granted. I hope that helps a little, for all the details check out the website.

That is not what I have heard. They wont ask you for a wish they will just show up with one. I think it was a MiceAge article that said they have a new program that will make sure everything is random. The computer program will say, "Go to the teacups at 12:45 and give the person in the green teacup a t-shirt."

I heard they will be doing a little bit of everything. Since making a million personal wishes come true would be about impossible they are having a mix of random give-aways (like the green shirt in the teacup) and then some custom dream come trues. We'll just have to see how everything goes down.

I have been doing some calculations, and if I am correct, then Disney will be granting about 2700 dreams a day.

That is correct, about 900 a day at the Disneyland Resort, and 1,800 at WDW. And that many of these dreams will be lower level prizes (official rules will be released on October 1st), but expect to see at least half of those daily prizes to be things like pins, or an invite to a special character meet and greet.
The odds are that about 1 in 60 people will win a "dream" (aka prize).
