For those who missed it, Mike Scopa went to the event last night and has an article about it up at MousePlanet's Main Page.

I hope this isn't a dumb question, but how do you think this would work?..."chosen statistically..."

Simple algorithm:

potential_winner = select_random_guest();
while ( potential_winner.annual_passholder )
potential_winner = select_random_guest();
endwhile;

I really wish it encluded a change in the MK parade. I'm tired of Share a Dream Come True.:mad:
The parade will stay, but with a new name, new music and new choreography. The floats are also having the snow globes removed and are being rebuilt from the stage level up.

I'm going to have to talk to my friend who works for a company that helps WDW with a lot of their statistics to see whether they're helping with the selections....

Here are a couple articles from local news on the Dreams promotion including more details on the sleep in Cinderella's Castle.

They will have Pirate parties (by invitation), royal balls (also by random invitation while at the park). Mentions how/where to get picked briefly.

Some change is better than no change.

Thanks Mark!

Perhaps I missed it in all that has been written about this (or maybe the answer is in the above phrase), but with all the mention of empowering cast members to make guests' dreams come true, what I REALLY wanna know is if AP'rs are included, as opposed to the bazillionth guest thing they just did where a family was plucked out of the ticket buying line...

I've got a phone call in to Mike Scopa, who's at the press event, about the Yom Kippur thing. I'll hope that he gets the message while he's still with the WDW folks. If not, I'll check with Media Relations tomorrow.
OK, the latest word that I've gotten from WDW is that they have people checking into it. I'm not expecting an answer until the middle of next week. I'm going to have to put something inconclusive into Monday's Park Update, and I'll let everybody know what I find out for sure when I hear something definitive.

Hey, I wanna know too! I entered, figuring that in the unlikely case that I win, I'd force the issue if they didn't give me a straight answer. ;)

The "impossible" includes the creation of over-the-top, overnight experiences for winning guests at both East and West Coast resorts: a royal bedchamber inside Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World Resort

The only drawback being you have to check-out by the stroke of midnight.

;)

Say...if I won the bedchamber deal...you think Disney would mind if I hawked my stay? Held an auction that afternoon? "I have three grand. Do I hear four?"

:)

QuikQuote: Walt Disney World officials say they haven't worked out many details about the part of their big, new, yearlong promotion that is piquing imaginations: a chance to spend the night in the royal chamber at Cinderella Castle.
"Oh my gosh," said Brandee Foxworthy of Longwood, whose daughter, Ella, was named for the fairy-tale princess. "My first thought was, in what way could we increase our chances?"
That's yet to be answered, along with: How will winners be picked? What will the suite be like? What will visitors do after the park closes?
Craig Dezern, a marketing vice president, said those details still are being worked out. Even the apartment is only a shell right now, with planners discussing how to turn it into a royal chamber.

I just got word from WDW, so I wanted to post it right away for those concerned. Even though the sweepstakes mandates October 1-4 or the prize could be forfeited, "the dates for the [prize] could become flexible should the need arise." So enter away!

Has anyone seen Disney’s new site www.mydisneyparks.com ? You can win VIP access to the Magic Kingdom. I think that means you and your group have the whole park to yourselves. How awesome would that be!? Could you imagine walking through Walt Disney World with just your friends and family?

Hi Santa!

(hehehee, just LOVE saying that!) Yes, it does sound like a fabulous promotion, and Padders have been having fun talking about the Million Dreams promotion (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=57300&highlight=Million+Dreams) since it was released. Oooh, the options!

Personally, I want to win Annual Passes for my family for life, but I don't see that as an option yet. LOL

I think the "Year of a Million Dreams" it is such an awesome idea, and will be such a special experience for the winner. I went to the website and registered. But whether I win or not, I know my trip to WDW this Fall will be as special as ever!

Also, thank you DARKBEER for all of your knowledge and insight into this new celebration!!!

Yeah you go to the website and enter your email address and that enters you to win the personal family tour. Which is where the whole park is not closed it just means sections are closed off for like an hour at a time and you and your family get to go in by yourself. I think that would be amazing.:D

I think it would be so cool to have an annual pass to Disneyland. I would go everyday after school. Disneyland is one of those places that is impossible to get sick of, there is just so much to see and do! I registered on mydisneyparks.com, and am keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Hey everyone…. I just received an email from Disney acknowledging that they received my registration and my dream request. The email also contained a link for a free screen saver for my computer! So if you haven’t registered already, go to www.mydisneyparks.com and do so. Good Luck.
