I had lunch at Cafe Orleans today; I tried the French Onion Soup and the Three Cheese Monte Crisco. I agree with Cindy fully about the beverage glasses they are entirely too small. My server refilled the table across from my table three times before I got to order.

I wasn't in a rush and the food was excellent. The French onion soup came piping hot and was one of the best French Onion soups I've had in a while. The broth was very flavorful instead of watered down yuck as I've gotten at some restaurants.

The Monte Crisco was basically a deep fried three cheese sandwich and was wonderful as well. I tried the berry dip and found it to be quite good; I had reservations about trying it because I had a preconceived notion that it was going to be like strawberry jam or something. It wasn't what I thought it would be and it turned out that I enjoyed it.

I think if they fixed the glassware issue it would improve service time significantly. I actually changed my drink order from Cherry coke which had to be made the old fashioned way to regular coke just so she didn't have to go through more work to get my drink to me.

So, funny thing happened today. DH made a bet about something and my "reward" for winning was that he would go to DL with me while we are down there this Friday (hee hee! I SOOOO owe my mom!) and I don't want to do Blue Bayou again but might be interested in Cafe Orleans for the first time ever. Where is it exactly in NOS and do they take ressies? Thanks in advance!

the entrance for Cafe Orleans is right across from the exit of Pirates. It does take priority seating reservations (meaning you arwe seated before someone who would just walk up). I think lunch starts at 11:30.

I haven't seen much info on here regarding the new Cafe Orleans. I haven't been to DL since June because my AP is blocked out and was wondering what everyone thought of the new restaurant. I love sit down restaurants for a nice break in the day and am getting a little tired of Carnation Cafe. So what does everyone think? yay or nay???? also do they have a kids menu??

Thanks!

I haven't seen much info on here regarding the new Cafe Orleans.I merged your thread with this one that has a lot of discussion of the new menu and those who went and sampled it.

You can search the forums using keywords if you're looking for information on a specific topic. I used "cafe orleans." :)

The menu, including children's menu, is up on the MousePlanet Guide Page here (http://www.mouseplanet.com/guide.php?pg=AAG402).
