If they're not they should be. Penguins are indigenous to Jamaica. What's that on the television then (http://www.ibras.dk/montypython/episode22.htm#11)?

Well, I might have to write a letter to City Hall demanding penguins on the new menu. I bet Pirates would have eaten penguins. If pirates did it, so can DL guests!

Well, it's Cafe Orleans - and if that's in reference to NEW Orleans (as opposed to where Joan of Arc was from) - there are penguins here at the aquarium. (And thanks to the Monterey Bay Aquarium for keeping them safe after Katrina until their home was re-ready for them!)

We tried Cafe Orleans today and loved it. Great service, nice patio seating (the tables were not all jammed together,) and the best Monte Cristo I've ever had. Sizzling hot from the kitchen! The pommes frittes were to die for, and I had good reports about the salads and macaroni kid's meal. I'll be visiting often.

That's good to hear. I'd heard a couple of other reports that said the service was terribly slow, drinks sat empty without being refilled for 20 minutes, etc. I wouldn't think that service like that would last at DL, but finding good help (and keeping it) isn't easy there any more.

Arcadia?
d'Arc was her family name. She was born in Domremy, in the Lorraine region of France. Orleans is a town that was taken by the English and then saved by Joan d'Arc (and is where her legend attached).

For us, I think it helped that we were there for the first seating right at 11:30and there were plenty of staff on hand ready to be helpful. Also, there were two suits dining two tables over, occasionally offering suggestions to the staff. Maybe everyone was extra sharp because of it.

I think he was refering to the canceled show Joan of Arcadia. ;)

Well, I think the problem is that cstephens posted a CCRP. Alex isn't always up to speed on those. ;)

We ate at Cafe Orleans today and it gets two thumbs up from my group as well. We ate at around 2:00 and it didn't seem to be that busy. Our drinks were continually being filled. Our food was good-we had a Monte Cristo, crab sandwich, chicken drumsticks. The portions were huge. Even the kids' drumsticks. That would be my only complaint. It felt like we were wasting alot of food. We also ate at BB on this trip and definitely preferred CO over BB. CO's service was better as was the food. (We waited forever for our ice teas to be refilled at BB.) We did get a waterside table at BB which the kids loved.

I'm familiar with the show, but since Joan of Arc isn't in that that show I thought maybe it wasn't a reference to it.
Plus I was also correcting the comment on her being from Orleans, and it was just a general comment since most people assume that "of Arc" was not a family name but something like "da Vinci" from a time and place where family names weren't used.

Everyone knows her family name is "of Arc (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_&_Ted's_Excellent_Adventure)".

Would someone please be so kind as to post a sticky somewhere detailing all the obscure jargon and acronyms (http://www.acronymattic.com/results.aspx?q=ccrp&s=a) used on this site? Thanks in advance.

I had the regular Monte Cristo (minus the ham) it was served with grapes and strawberries - and a yummy berry puree. My boyfriend ordered the blackend chicken casear (which he said was really good). It came with three small pieces of bread. I would absolutely go back there to eat (although we were positioned near the new pirate "show" which got kind of annoying).

Not yet -- but AVP did call me to tell me of its existence. (Maybe I'll try to get there on the 17th). :)

Thanks, but I don't see "CCRP" on there.

Thanks, but I don't see "CCRP" on there.CCRP is not a Disney term. It stands for Common Cultural Reference Point.

from the review: the only prohibition is their current system of accepting patrons. While we were waiting to be seated, they turned away quite a number of people who did not have reservations. However, the restaurant was only about half-full, and I don't think the restaurant was ever much more than half full in the entire time we were there. Given that we had a wait for our food,
I'm guessing they didn't have enough staff to run a full restaurant. In talking to CMs that work in Foods, they are still extremely short staffed. Though things have gotten better (in comparison with last year after the new contract went in) they still aren't able to operate the normal number of ODV carts that they usually have out, and minor locations close early or don't open at all somedays.
Good review by the way.
We tried Cafe Orleans today and loved it.
We ate there last weekend and also found it a very satisfactory experience. Hubby had the cheese Monte Cristo and loved it (tho' $15 bucks for a cheese sandwich seemed a bit high even for DL). I had the chicken crepes and I thought they were quite tasty. Pomme frittes were yummy. Service was excellent - in fact there seemed to be too many CM's everywhere!
This coming weekend, we try out the new Blue Bayou (there goes the food budget for the week!) :p
